New Xede Power Record Tests Limits of Stock MAF
it is there to **** you off everytime you need to get to something in that area. It does serve a purpose sorta..i mean it does guide air toward/in the general direction of the brakes....and it catches socket wrenches that slip out of your hands.
Second, several cars running without it have experienced catastrophic engine failures because they ran over stuff and got kicked up and damaged the oil pan, filter etc and they
had no undertray to protect things.
As an alternative, you can make a new one out of aluminum that is permanently mounted to the bumper via rivets. Then you just pull the bumper off with 4-6 bolts when you need access. It is much easier to take the whole bumper off than the undertray. Doing it in aluminum as the added advantage of strengthening your bumper.
We have done that for several cars for roadracing and it cost around a 60 bucks worth of aluminum sheet(1/8) and a plasma cutter + some rivets. Looks good too

you gotta take all the aggravating clips out of the bumer to get it off the undertray.
ive had mine off for a while, just because i had been doing so much work on the car. its about to go back on now tho.

IMHO- 470whp on shivs dyno would be about ~520-530whp on TT's dynojet......using a 12% correction factor that seems to be consistent with mine and smoggy's numbers on both dynos....

Congrats Smoggy! Upgrade that fuel system and go run some crazy track times! It is nice to see what can be done with a piggy back and a bunch of stock parts.
