Wrong. Ron did 418 on Shiv's DD then went about 475 on the TT dynojet. He only reached 494 after Shiv did an entirely new custom tune on a new fuel, VP MS109, at the first Dyno Day organized by me at TT in March.

By the way, that works out to 1.13 correction factor between the two dynos. For some reason, lower hp cars typically see a 1.12 correction factor: For example, my car did 332 on shiv's dyno and 372 on the TT dyno.

So, even if we gave your bro's car the benefit of the doubt and gave it a VERY generous correction factor of 1.14, it would make an impressive 535whp, but not high 500's like you stated.

470 X 1.14 = 535.8 -------- and that is being generous. Without question, I make at least 50 more ft lbs of torque, do it all at 1500 rpms sooner, and have a higher rev limit, due to having a built motor.

Finally, I'll never have to shift into fifth in a drag race. I can hold fourth til it's over. My goal is high 120's (ie 128+ mph) and very, very, low 11's.

I wish I could make ~130whp by running race gas and "only" 8psi more.....looking good smoggy.

btw- whats up with the 91 octane shootout? Is it still going to fly?

if you rev it to 8500 i dont think it will be a problem to go 130 in 4th gear.

btw i love mark... hes the only guy guy that has driven his car less than me in the last year and a half

you are always talking about how damn fast that car is. Any proof? i hear a lot of "i should be able to show you 130" type $hit, but have yet to see any track numbers.

no you see what mark means is he can show you 130mph but it wont be in an evo, nor any car that he owns... lol

i said it before and ill say it again.... imagine if he put all THAT money (like 3 engine rebuilds) into an evo.. he might be able to give even companies like ams a run lol!!! with his own personal car.

dude mark, you clearly have a great job.. please sell the car that will never be as fast as an evo and buy a new z06.. that car will own all. then you can make that thing NASTY.

it wasn't the race gas and boost that did it...its all in the clear cam gear cover.

IE, did 490whp on that dyno and was trappin 124ish...I think.
Our shop car did 124mph at 430whp and 122mph at 400whp. Both smacking against the rev limiter in 4th gear as it crossed the line. My rev limit was just higher in the 124mph set-up. Smoggie should be able to do 130mph without too much trouble running full boost (30psi). In a full weight street car, no less!

After what Tom went though, I think 8500 rpm would be a little scary. I know other guys say they run that high, but stuff always breaks and why chance it for bragging rights

Of course there's always that Chevy Lumina or SE 6000 or whatever it was.
