Best Motoring American Touge
Wow, after reading this thread and re-reading the bestmotoring page, it makes perfect sense:

"casting call"
kinda lame, i really hoped that it would be more of a lap time/driver response kinda competition.

If I thought that a tiny DOT legal steel radial was illegal I would choose to run the biggest widest rim/tire combo I could stuff under the fenders and trade overall handling balance for ultimate grip. Of course, per the guidelines that Ken emailed and discussed with m by phone, my tire choice made total sense and delivered excellent results as evidenced by my lap time (which was not factored into the producers' decsion making anyway). I have since learned that my lap time was the same as the time achieved by last year's winner - the Comptech NSX.
One last thing I should add - the Factor X guys are cool guys and I really enjoyed meeting them and checking out the car. My beef is with Zigzag/BMI, not any of the other contestants.

Our racecar was our original entry, but the organizers of the event recieved _many_ complaints about it being allowed to run, so we made the decision to leave it at the shop and focus our teams effort on my daily driver. After the season we have had, winning so many events thru the year, I can't complain about this set back one bit. For me, motorsports is always about sharing the best and worst of times with your friends and competitors, all of you can be proud of the way the Evo community was represented, hopefully the video will show that as well. See you all next time.

And, there was this other Skyline. The purple monster of Signal Auto. During our first TimeAttack which we won in our class, our EVO had better lap times than the Signal Auto Skyline which was in UNLIMITED class. Yet again, both cars were driven by Tarzan.
The only things the XS Sky had going for it were the slicks and the fact that it was a Skyline. 700hp or not, EVO's are FTW!
