That all makes perfect sense.

Why would people suggest close the TB then?

ok I finally understand why jet size ISN"T that important when thinking about droplet size, from a thread on rx7club:

So as you can see the difference in droplet size (top right table) between the M3/4/5 @ ~150psi is pretty minor.

So since the HFS6 can pulse width modulate the flow you can basically dial in whatever flow you need.

So I will go for 2x 0.8mm jets.

Now I just need to firm up the install location.

Richard your preference is for 2 jets (staggered by 90degrees) at the start of pipe #10 just after the IC?

I think two jets with a gap of 3-6 inch along the inlet tube will be good. This will avoid the spray hitting each other and form larger droplets.

ok.

Now finally what are your thoughts on the BOV?

Will W/M injected before the BOV go up the BOV line and hit the turbo?

Keep in mind that on the EvoX the BOV return line is VERY long - I would say 60cm+ - Will this length aid in the evaporation of W/M mist when the BOV is active?

This is almost like pre-turbo injection. The length of the return line will help the droplet size to reduce further. There is also a drop in pressure 3X to 0 in the line which will aid the speed of vaporisation.

I expect the HFS-6 will stop the spray well before the BOV is activated so only minimum of spray is being recirculated.

If this is concern for you, place the jet after the BOV.

Well I will take a photo of my comp wheel before the meth install and then monitor it for a few weeks/months after.

I just looked at an old log (to see IDC vs TPS vs MAP) and there is about 0.05 seconds from when the TPS closes until the IDC drops off (which would be when the HFS stops spraying!)

The boost pressure in the Manifold stays higher than 10psi for another 0.05 seconds - which would keep the BOV closed.

I think the length of the BOV return + the 90degree nature of the BOV (for inertial speed of any sizeable droplets smashing into the BOV instead of going through it) will all aid in the reduction of anything hitting the comp wheel!

Might as well try and see

Alternatvely, you are direct the vented air into a catch tank.

Hahah Tephra I love watching you take on projets. Its almost like when your in school and the teachers tells you to show your work.

Most people would be like. Drill hole, install nozzle, add meth, drive

I have no problem with questions.

You can ask as many questions as you like, I can only answer the ones I know the answer.

hehe... yeh I wanna get it right

I am still not 100% confident, but I think it should be ok...

The tanks are almost on the way from the states now, just a few more bits to include in the box and then I should have it all.

I have the CAD drawing for the bracket done, I just need the tanks to map out the holes and final configuration - then I can get the bracket fabricated... Thinking about anodising it as well for a bit of shine-factor!

Slow process - so hopefully it will be awesome in the end

If your meth system planning is as good as your software, I expect nothing short of perfection.

mmm heres hoping

the only things I am concerned with at the moment:

a) no failsafe on the X - in regards to switching map's etc - I will rectify that ASAP :P
b) BOV recirc of waste mist onto compressor wheel - I will take some photos of before and after use and post them up...
c) how to tune for the 50/50 mix once its all installed

a) Go for plan B (wastegate setting) until map switch is done.
b) You can always put a water collection bottom and store the water into a small container. It should be quite simple to make. A bottle with in and out port with a small plate in between.
Water most hit the plate and drop to the bottom, air just gets round it. You can buy a ready made water/air separation cannister.
c) How far is the ECU reflash's ablility to modify stock map? Can you have a safe map up to the wastegate pressure and aggressive map beyond when the HFS-6 gives the OK?

d) switch to E85 then your oct is so high a fail safe losses some importance
