i got a little whine from 2500-2800 in first gear only shep said not to worry bout it till it was time to do a tranny build.

Hey Reno Crew, I live in the NW and have a black ix. I am new to evo’s and wanted to day hi.
Also was curious if there are any good shop’s in town.

Modified is the only shop around here, but if you want a good tune you need to go to the bay area. SpeedElement seems to be the one everyone likes. I just moved here and am learning as well

Or you guys could make the trip to Truckee and get your installs/maintenance done right by professional ASE certified techs that own and modify Evos.

i changed out the fluids., only very small metal fuzz., pretty normal stuff., so i dont know.....it runs fine just makes that whining noise., there is a thread on here on what it sound like and my car sounds exactly the same., maybe my TC is getting ready to die.......if it does then i'll just upgrade to a shep TC but i need to save some money for that....only thing that sucks is i only have one car!!! bumer.=(

how loud is it?when it's in neutral does it whine whenever you rev it up or it only whines when it's in gear?If it's your TC it usually gets louder on 3rd and 4th gear.

yup! no whine when neutral and only noticeable on 4th and 5th., its not really loud actually, i can barely hear it if my windows are down., but it just started so im assuming it will get louder soon., also if i let go of the gas the whine goes away.....thats why im sooo confused....plus why would my tc break before the transmission or clutch?
