The bell housing on the 6 spd has a cast in guide tube.
The bell housing on the 5 spd has a bolt in guide tube.
This is one of the main reasons why you can bolt up a Tilton hydraulic throwout bearing which is both a throwout bearing to 'only' a 5 spd. I found this out the hard way when I was trying to sell the Tilton I had awhile back to a 6spd owner.
Anything that uses this hydraulic throwout bearing is only going to go directly onto the 5 spd. This includes the quartermaster, spec twin plate, exedy push conversion (I think) etc ... I will note that the OS Giken I believe will go on either. (I like OS Giken hehe ... )
On a different note, I tried to read the new selling posts, and am not pleased that we don't have a thread dedicated to selling to peeps in Utah anymore. I'm not sure if that's because the mods wanted to make full threads out of fairness or what. Could somebody enlighten me?
I personally liked the Utah selling thread ... It offered some nice shipping and meeting options as well as helping out the local community. Also by subscribing to the thread, I didn't have to wade through a ton of "FS FS FS MORE FS, bump FS, more bump, to the top FS" threads. It would pop up Utah selling things in my e-mail. You could also post a full on FS link for extra pictures and things dedicated to that thread. It was nice.
Did I win today also?
Thanks!

jcnel_evo8: You still have that: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/we...-thread-2.html
I'm a big supporter of regional social threads having a corresponding FS market thread. It's great for locals to find deals on parts that can be paid cash in hand.

BTW I like the new photo rule about user name and date in photo.

If I'm not mistaken, it was moved to the West Marketplace section so it could be monitored as a FS thread. Here's the link:

wtf when did you become a mod?
I thought I had finally found a not-too-bad IX for sale at a reasonable price. Checked the CarFax: Up for auction once, repossessed once, in one accident, changed hands ~5 (!!) times. Drove the car anyway. Had mismatched tires front/rear, several cheap-o mods (autozone intake, several parts were spray-painted red), one moderately bent door, some interior rips.
I think my favorite part, though, was that the previous owner installed little fog lights up front, but rather than wire them up properly just strung some wire under the car and into the cabin... through the bottom driver's side door.

Was they the black on at some credit union? There is one in Vegas that I have been trying to get owner traded it in before I sold my RS and then some small dealer bought it from them (I am guessing they had priced reasonably and the other dealer thought they could just mark it up and make a quick couple grand)

I actually put a somewhat low-ball offer in and it was accepted. I have until tomorrow to go through with it. Now I'm torn.
I think I may head up there tomorrow and see if they'll let me take it to a collision center that will look over the frame. If the frame isn't bent, then I'm 90% sure that the 'accident reported' is the damage to the rear right door, which looks a lot like the previous owner just clipped the side of his garage while pulling in. I can definitely live with that damage. Any frame damage and I'm not touching it, though.
The rest of the issues are actually pretty minor. I can fix them myself, with the exception of the minor upholstery issues. Fortunately my good friend's family owns a car upholstery shop, and they do excellent work. Even the upholstery issues are minor.

I have had no response from anyone on the forum this year. There are only 2 races left in the series. Next one is Feb 12th, then Mar 12th.

I called and setup an appointment with a collision center, and I'm headed up there tomorrow prepared to do a deeper inspection of the car. If my compression test checks out and the frame test results are within spec, I just might be joining the ranks of the Utah Evo owners at a reasonable price.
Thanks.
