Pull the motor up through the top not the bottom. You probably could do it from the bottom but I have always gone the top route Originally Posted by sikwititevo9

but if you dont have a engine jack then you could probably drop it. What are you doing and what happened?Quote:
I've done two of them. So why ya wanna pull your motor??
O yea pull the hood off and lift it out works...we did both where we took the head off and slid the block out from under it. We took the head off to see what the damage was on my car & my friends motor as well.
Ya I have helped out with I think 3 or 4 now and did one at the Race Track last year Originally Posted by wesside

my buddy is getting pretty close to his 60,000 miles and is gonna do his timing belt. but we have kinda convinced him to pull his head off and to a port and polish valves springs etc. so we thought just to pull the motor plus he wants to replace his rear main seal while he is at it. so i think it would be easier. what do you guys think?Originally Posted by wesside

I have done it both ways and real think that going through the bottom is the best. And let me know if you need some help more than willing to work for food or money or well just _________ use your mind
taking it apart is half the battle, putting it together that takes time. What plans you got or need to do a clutch??

anyone know anybody in utah who is parting out an evo9? i need the o2 sensor and i dont wanna pay an arm and a leg for a new one.

You can do it many ways, but really if it was me I would just drop the whole thing and deal with it out of the car and then put it all together and then slide it back under the car and pull it up. I did my whole motor and what in the garage with a cumalong tired into the rafters. Lifted the car all the way on jack stands and then dropped it all out the bottom and slid it out on a dolly. the put it all together slid back in. Raised it up. Can ask me anything else you might think of as I have just been there.

I think most people just go to the auto store or what, look futher in the other forums, you will find the info there, or were you planning that and not talking about going to Mitsubishi?
