yes sir! that was on 23psi & i actually would run close to 25psi on race days. dyno's suck anyway & modern is ****ing $$$, the track is just as good of a figure to go off of with mph!
my friend dynoed 320whp on pump gas in his eclipse @ modern and i can pull on him when i'm on race gas.

ZZZZZZZAAAAAAAACCCCCCCKKKKKKKCCCCCCHHHHHH,
You must be confused, there is no way that modern garage is ****ing $$$, I mean honestly who else could build a $5000 motor (for a wrx) and then charge the owner an aditional $2000 for the turbo set up, and run an astonishing 13.5 quarter?? I mean I don't know of any other shop that good with their "specialty". Of course, I don't know very much.

Sorry I used to be there but I had to sell my car to go to school. In one year I will be back and have an Evo, and hopefully start giving Modern some much needed competition. Since IMO they don't have any right now.

I just had the wonderful oppurtunity of spending some quality time with Christian at a handful of diferent auto-x events. He basically told me I was stupid, and that he's god of modifying cars etc. on every occasion that we talked. He did shut up though, after one day Mitch waved his 12.4 second time slip from a stock block 2.0 ej20 wrx in his face and asked him if he'd produced a car that had put down that time at RMR. I personally don't like an arrogant shop owner, and Christian fits that to a big fat TTTT, how about you, what has you so hyped on modern???????

I put on some Continental Extreme Contact tires today to get ready for a trip up to Brighton this weekend for a little snowboarding. I think these tires should be pretty sweet, good traction, and since they are not a "true" snow tire they still have respectable handling. Nothing like Advans, but way better than Blizzaks.

You guys all bash Modern, right? What happens when you have to do some tuning on your car? Where have you guys taken them locally? Have any of you ever had Modern work or tune your car?

I don't have any money, so I don't take my car anywhere.
But, hypothetically, I would try to plan a road trip to California in the Summer months when I'm outa school and make it conveniently close to Vishnu.
But, then again, I don't have any money anyway.

I don't bash modern they do a service for a price. They are probably the only place i would let do serious work on my car besides me and nick.

I do good work I did the hardest install on Robs car with just a 10mm wrench

Suggestion ...

Why don't we start a Thread called "Evo's in Utah -- October" and then have a 'new' thread for every month? Its nice to have this here, but a pain to figure out when things are posted etc. etc.

rob i don't really have a problem with modern but i have noticed in the last year a attitude that really sucks and has turned me off from going there!!!
if you want to get your car tuned & you do not know what you are doing i would take my car there but now that i know more about tuning ect. i don't use any shops for anything!!!

modern did tune my eclipse a long while ago and always did a good job so i can't say they do crappy work they are just getting to expensive for me.... even for a dyno pull!!!!

Courtney made a good point while discussing modern at the pie a while back (he doesn't really see exactly eye to eye with christian either) He said that modern/cobb are building mild subarus for guys who want everyday drivability and no compromise. He said trey's theory is to do that and maintain happy costumers, and make good money while doing it. I understand and respect that. I however get irritated when I'm told that that is the best way to go, and any other way is falling under stupidity. Courtney told me the reason modern/cobb aren't building 500hp semi-race cars is simply because the guy who wants that car, and can handle it will build it himself. Very true, if you do that extent of work to a car (mine is moodier than my girlfriend when its that time of month) you need to know how to address a hundred different issues on a weekly basis. So despite what I may have said, my problem isn't with modern as a shop, but with Christian as a shop owner.
