I didn't see your evo there; I was in the garage bay too when I parked my car. Oh well. Are you having them replace the stock brembo pads? Those are uber expensive, aren't they; you could just get some ferodo ds2500's instead for a lot cheaper.

And by the way, what is the JUN suspension.

Yeah, well being that A) I'm not paying for the pads and B) they had already finished the order when I had found out the ferodo's are better and C) Well it seems in my brain JUN racing suspension is JIC coilovers, springs, and shocks...lol Make more sense now? Do you know Ray that owns Wheel Werks and used to have a Yellow Evo? I have his old wheels and suspension, and that's what it is. It's just racing suspension, cuts out a TON of the body roll and makes the car feel a lot more stable (whether it is or not I couldn't say) Plus it looks a bit less like a sedan dropped 2 inches. Uh, I can't find any suspension from JUN online for the Evo....I swear that's what they are though, whatever, they work and that's all that matters. But yeah, the pads and the 10 min install was like 400 dollars......I shoulda bought Ferodos and done them myself, that's about all I can do on my own to a car. What I need to do to show the difference in height is get someone who hasnt dropped their car and tak a picture of the two Evos next to each other

Shep's offered evo tranny rebuilds for some time now, just FYI.

The map sensor on the utec just allows you to log the manifold psi in the dataloging section. You can also use it to set load columns. It's nice to have because the evo doesn't use a map sensor stock like the subarus do. The problem is the ecu still relies on the maf sensor for intake temp readings, airflow readings, and makes a calculation based on that and afr's read through the stock oxygen sensor. With the aem or hydra it is a speed density set up (which i'm still learning about) basically it reads speed of the air, and density of the air to calculate the difference in ambient pressures, and change fueling/timing accordingly. With the standalones systems you run an intake temp sensor as well as a map sensor with the speed density set ups.

Your a student, just take out a student loan for the utec Or maybe we could set up a payment plan

Give em a call for details. I talked to a few people from this board that had it done before I had my evo, which has been about a year now, and they were very pleased with the work. They mention they do it on their website, but they dont have the big breakdown of what it includes like they do for the DSM. If I recall pricing is similar to the AWD DSM tranny rebuilds.

Student loans for a utec...maybe I could list it as an extracurricular expense. And also, let me know when you are getting the standalone, I'd like to see how you tune it and everything. I'd love to learn more about the inner workings of these cars, but I don't think I can afford to blow mine up, so maybe I can learn the ropes off other people, no?

And UT EVO, are you in Sandy then? And do you go to the U. Let me know when you have your car back and we can line them up and get some pictures, since mine is at the stock height.

ut evo do you have black wheels with a polished lip? if so i see you drive by my shop on 3300 s & 2221 e sometimes!!
rob if you want to show me the utec a little i might still be interested in it! but @ the same time my question is why was it pulling timing & knocking on race gas? old plugs or do you think it was the system? because even the boost you were running that should have been good for 120 +mph traps. this is the only thing that worries me..

Yeah, that's me, with the U and Car Concepts stickers on the back...though I can't recall the last time I went that far east on 3300s and in a few days here (aka sometime next week) I'll be switching back to the stock rims for my winter tires.

After asking around and checking a few things out, I think that the knock that was being registered was actual missfire from loss of spark. A lot of the guys i've talked to who run vp 110 with success gap there plugs to .018, and I was at .026. So that is a possibility. Also, the other problem I was experience was high hz feedback from the maf. which caused the load point to change, and could have had an effect with the missfire I was experiencing. With the new firmware I can use the map sensor to configure load columns, which will make it a lot more consistent. I was hoping to sell it before I loaded it up, but it looks as though i'll be giving the new firmware a try. I'ts nice because it allows you to adjust your redline accordingly. So i'll try that out, and I think i'm going to use c-16 next time, with the lower specific gravity that should help with missfire.

However, i'm going full standalone(my quest for an 11sec pass will be complete ) whether it works or not, so i'll check it out, and if you want to go out one afternoon and spend some time tuning with it your more than welcome to. Just let me know.

Let me tell you something about that South Towne Dealership (Mitsu). They are a bunch of dumb asses when it comes to the EVO. It may seem like they know, but THEY DON'T. I am sure that you have all had problems, or at least thought you did, when you would fill up your IC spray canister, right? I thought so too when I first had the car. Guess what, they ordered me a new one, well that one "leaked too!" said Ken Garff Mitsu. I get another one, "I am not sure what is going on, we are going to have to take it in and look at it" said Ken Garff Mitsu. One week goes bye, "I don't know what the hell the problem is but this new one is leaking as well." Say's Ken Garff Mitsu. Well of course nobody, including me, knew what was going on with the son of a btching thing. Finally, the tech from Downtown said that it had an "overflow" valve. What does that tell you about the SouthTowne Mitsu people. Oh ya, they tried to f--- me over on my EVO when I first bought it. They TRIED to hit me 2x for destination charge. $300 for tint. $120 for some wheel locks, god damn floor mats. I gave them my middle finger and went to Billings Montana to get mine. I AM NEVER GOING TO KEN GARFF FOR ANY OTHER MITSUBISHI DEALS!!!
MY OPINION ONLY.

Any boost controller works they are basically the same thing so spending 200 on one seems stupid in my opinon. The perrin one is 71.99 and does the same thing the turboxs does. If you want a dual stage(flip a switch to run more boost) I would go with TurboXS. The exhaust sounds good too. But to do a full turboback you are going to want to get a cat delete pipe too.

I like the hallman in-cab adjustable mbc, its expensive, but to be able to adjust your boost without leaving the drivers seat would be very nice.

Yeah, but isn't a cat delete pipe not street legal? I'd prefer to pass emissions anywhere. And what about the Turbo Outlets, are they worth while too? And today I was told that somehow my style of shifting is speeding up the wearing out of the clutch and I have to pay for it if it goes bad, so an Exedy Hyper Twin Plate w/ some new flywheel will probably be the first mod, followed by the exhaust set up. What exactly does an aftermarket BOV help asside from making the blow-off sound a lot cooler? And Liberty, I dare not adjust a thing on my own on the car anyway...knowing me somehow I'd break it
