Utah Evos
Ok, sounds good, I'll definitly come stop by sometime, how late are you guys open? But like I said, don't expect my business any time soon, I'm a little bit short on funds and a way of getting funds for now, then again, that was my case with the stereo system and I dropped 2600 into that after a summer of working. How safe is cranking up the boost anyway?

I hear the Vishnu XEDE is good and the Apex-I S-AFC/II are both pretty good for starter, but are they gonna have the problems like the AEM? And they only control fuel right? Not EVERYTHING like the AEM does (ac, intercooler spray, etc etc)? Anyway, if AEM is really a bad idea, then that's good news cuz AEM is expensive, but if it was a good idea it would be worth it. Plus, that "list" that you gave me jid, at least the first part, adds up to be as much as the AEM is alone. If the K&N is really that good of an idea, then that's awesome cuz it's like 70 bucks is all...anyway, I'll PM you and find out about tomorrow.
As for power gains with XEDE, and the UTEC, on a stock car i've seen dyno charts with 40-70 whp gains. This is mostly dependent on the tuner, and the location (you'll see more gain at sea-level than up here at 4500ft.) Definatly do a turbo back exhaust, but get a highflow cat, otherwise you won't be racing auto-x at the state fair park, you'll be sitting on the side watching with Ethan!!!!!!!lol
I've got a fairly new K&N panel filter you can have if you buy my utec

The only turbo-back I can seem to find is the Vishnu one, but maybe I haven't been looking hard enough. Most seem to be cat-back and don't say turbo-back or not (but I was thinking turbo-back anyway) And as for the deal on the UTEC, well A) I'd need to get the money first, or a constant supply of money so I could convince my dad to loan me some B) I'd have to find somewhere to tune it and C) Well, I'd have to do a teenie bit more research, I haven't heard much on the UTEC....D) Why are you selling the UTEC anyway?

Get a cat-back and then a down-pipe, and maybe a new o2 sensor housing or whatever that thing is called that bolts to the turbo. I think the vishnu turbo back is all of those in one package.
And the yellow evo at the U is mine.

The vishnu turbo back is awsome, it is probably one of the best built out there, but is a bit more expensive. But the v-bands rather than flanges are probably worth it.
I'm selling my utec because i've out-grown it per say. My turbo is large enough that I need a four-inch intake, and with the utec you need to use the maf sensor which will only permit a three inch intake. With the maf i'm limited to about 425hp up here, and my turbo is capable of about 550 at our altitude. So i'm going to a full standalone, either an AEM, or the HYdra EMS. I haven't decided yet. The beutiful thing about the utec is it's very user friendly, and with a little reading, and research you can tune it on your own. I'd be more than willing to show you the ropes, and i'm sure Ben would help out when he could as well.
Anyhow, thumbs up on the vishnu turbo back, go to automotosports.com they also have turbo back exhausts, buschurracing.com, vividracing.com, and turboxs.com. All of those sites sell turbo backs, the turbo-xs will give you a write up on the utec, and there is also a forum on this site under tuning and engine management specific to the utec. check it all out, and good luck,
later,
Rob

Hey Ben, thanks again for the ride and the chat. And Jared, well I tried to call you but there was no answer I just got you voicemail, so I didn't come in. And Rob, yeah, Ben and Jared both already told me how freakin crazy fast your car is and how bad the UTEC was limiting you. So what's everyone think of this: HKS Hi-Power, Helix downpipe, and some sort of manual boost controller (which one's good Ben?)...And if you have your UTEC still for some reason in the far future and can't sell it, I'll definitly buy it from you.
So I just got back from the mitsubishi dealer at the southtowne auto mall, here are a few things I would like to relate...
First, they were really freindly, it took about an hour overall, but there were plenty of magazines to read. Unfortunately, they didn't have the cooling unit thing I needed, so they ordered it and I have to go back on the 8th of november. I mentioned a few other things that were bugging me on my car, including my windshield fluid squirters that aren't working. I think its because I clogged them with wax or something, but they wen't ahead and ordered some of those for me as well. I suppose I thought they would try and charge me for every little penny because of all the crap I've heard about the warranty, but they just started fixing stuff without me even asking. Then they gave my car a little scrup-down inside and out, so it even came back cleaner. Anyway, I just wanted to say I was impressed with our local dealership's service dept.
I also asked about any MR's at their dealer, and they said they've already sold a white one. Someone traded in a silver evo with 27,000 miles on it for the MR, and it had only been on their lot for a couple of days.

They're adding a volvo dealership. I suppose to make up for mitsubishi's lackluster sales. But mitsubishi will still be there.
Yes, Rob, I really did think they would not warranty the squirters with all of the crap I've heard. The real trick would be to see if they'll warranty your transmission.

I'd buy your utec if I had any money, but...
Is that the John Sheperd guy with the really quick dsm? I remember reading about him a long time ago and he was doing something like 9 second quarter miles on street tires. That would be cool if he came out with a transmission, but then again, theres that money thing...

Hey Astro, didja see the Silver Evo there? That was mine getting the coolant hoses and pads replaced. Yeah they are really good their, no why? Cuz my dad and I have yelled at them a million times, that and we've given them cars they've never seen to work on (they had to borrow my owners manual one day...) And I'd buy the UTEC for even that 1250 price if you held on to it for a year and a half...lol
