As for the mudflaps, do you priss your EVO so much it never goes out up a dirt road, down a snow covered street, or a turn a few brodies out in the vacant parking lot? Do I like paying for chipped paint? Uh ... no. Do I like washing off the waterfall effect on my Tarmac Black colored EVO. Uh ... no. Call me what you wish. The "C-a-r-b-o-n F-i-b-e-r" I made them out of hopefully takes some of the 'hickness' out of the flaps. They function, they look nice ... so ... here's a nice
about the way I feel about them. Anybody want some?BTW ... didn't the EVO start out as a motorsports contender in Rallaye?
... Mudflaps approach the inner essense of the EVO.
OH! I forgot, SLC is an urban jungle now ... not much dirt to be found there.
Cheers,
jcnel.
I guess I will be a hick too, my Rallyarmor mudflaps will be here on Monday. I have enough rock chips from last year, I do not need anymore. Can't wait to see pics of the carbon fiber ones you made.

Ok true, mudflaps do approach the inner essence of the Evo, then again so does the waterfall effect and mud plastered to the side, along with at least a few rock chips
And I know calling us a bunch of hicks was all in good fun, calling you a hick for the mudflaps was too, honestly if I was that willing to take a rock in the undercarriage of the car, I'd probably get mudflaps and find places to go off road, but being 2 inches closer to the ground than normal makes that a teenie bit difficult. I guess I just don't notice my rock chips, or the "waterfall effect"...thank the gods for apex silver. Anyway, all in a good laugh, no harm done.

Hey UT EVO, I don't know if you read sport compact car or not (or if you even have any respect for them), but they had a time attack issue a few months ago where they pitted a whole number of cars against one-another. One of the the cars was the APEXi/Sparco Evo, another was an Axis sponsored, lightly modified Modena. The Modena still beat it (though not by much). However, neither car was able to overcome a bruiser of an R33 (I think) Skyline.
You're right though, the Evo still shines against practically anything (unless its over at svtperformance.com).
On another note...
Hey Neria, or whatever, with the black STI announcing the meet...are you the Nick that I did the canyon run with awhile ago?

Yeah, I read that exact article, that's where my speel came from actually, but wasn't it the Vishnu Evo in 3rd place? (there were like 3 Evos if I remember right) And it was an R33 Skyline that was unstoppable or at least a Skyline of some sort. And I do have a lot of respect for SCC. And as for my point, what I was trying to say is an Evo that had a lot smaller price tag to be not too far behind those two cars is a big deal, riding in a Modena for free = cool (especially if you can't drive your car at that time anyway), any price to ride a Modena and I'd rather push the Evo closer to being as fast as a Modena
. And...I start too may sentences with and...true, the Modena (and any ferrari for that matter) have a WHOLE LOT less chance of something blowing up or breaking than an Evo...and being that I'm too lazy, what does svtperformance.com say?

I think it was the APEXi/Sparco evo that came in third. And the Skyline mopped up. You're right, though, for the price, the Evo cleans up. Svtperformance is ok overall, there seem to be a small percentage of the members that make a lot of stink and give initial visitors the idea that all cobras are on a higher plane. The cobra is certainly an awesome car, but like any other, it has its disadvantages and advantages, and this small percentage of members doesn't like to hear about it. I was joking about the site, though, overall they are a good bunch.
On yet another note: how many people are going the the meet on the 19th at Fashionplace. I figure I'll go to see whats going on.

Look at page 33 of the thread, lol, oh yeah and would anyone mind if an S2k tagged along weather permitting (just incase he asks if he can come too..and because they've all been nice enough to invite me to the S2k meets)? And as for my quote, to prevent getting a hard time from any STi guys that have seen it, I have nothing against STi's and I realize that stock they're a lot faster straight line than an Evo, but I still think the Evo looks better, handles better, and heck nothing beats a car that not every Tom, Dick, and Harry have
