Utah Evos
Time difference between S2K and SM has been very close including some events where the S2K time was better. And have you even been in the top 5 in SM? Have you ever even finished in top 10 in PAX? I've placed in top 3.
But I agree with you that it is all in good fun.
Come out to Infineon on 1-Jan. As much as I'd like to make it to a track event before than, my guess is that is the next event I'll make it to. There is another racerfactory.com event at Spring Mountain in Pahrump Nevada on 19-Mar. That's when the S2K will be coming back from Northern Calif. It would be great to have more people from UT at the event. If we get a group of at least 5 drivers together we can get a 10% discount.
... and why didn't any of you lamo's show up for breakfast last Sat?

ps Okay, back to the S2KI forum where I belong.

Actually yes, I was only not in the top five (in my class, not PAX results{also I only attended a total of 5 events so don't look for me in points standings}) at one of the races I raced. Most of the time the only people ahead of me were Ethan, the guy with the black integra, Eric, and occasionally the kid I co-drove with. Trust me, most of the time my times were ahead of your s2k including the last wendover event I attended, if needed i'll dig up the times from the web site.
(this post was edited to clarify the color, smell, and direct definition of the smoke coming out of my @$$)

The point still stands that I beat MSM by 2/10 of a second out at Spring Mountain in my stock Evo with some race tires on and the JIC suspension, that was before his insanly way too fast supercharger, but still. And second, stop fighting! lol

Let's check into reality ... shall we?
First, the top 5 in SM are guys I know very well ... and you're not one of them.
Second, Ethan doesn't drive a black integra. He drives a loud white civic. The guy you were behind, not to mention the others, was Mr. Dan L.
Third, the only Wendover event I attended this year was the test-and-tune. Results? Second fastest time of the day in a NA S2K with aftermarket shocks. Only car that beat my time was Alan Densmore in his fully SM2 prepped car.
Fourth, Let's check out the results for the Wendover event:
'Street Modified' - Total Entries: 10 Trophies: 41Tm94
1. Conway, Ethan 95 Honda Civic White 44.99044.9902
2. Lunt, Daniel00 Honda Integra Black 45.94945.949
3. Anderson, Allan93 Nissan 240sx Green 46.57546.575
4. Matt89 Nissan 240sx Red 46.88646.886
5. Gustavson, Eric 02 VW Gti 337 Silver 48.41448.414
6. Silva, Joseph 02 Subaru WRX Silver48.71948.719
So, as I mentioned, I know 1 through 5 well. Are you J. Silva? If so, what a suck a$$ time nearly 4 secs off the leader. If not, even worse.
Overall standings for the year? Well, you should be like number 2 since you pretty much always finished right behind Ethan who was #1 in your world.
Here's the list:
1. Mr. Dark himself (T. Green in the black BMW)
2. Mr. I can drive your car faster than you can (Matt G, black BMW/240sx)
3. Mr. I don't want to lose my license again (Ethan, white civic)
4. Mr. some guy thinks I'm Ethan and #1 (Dan L, black integra)
5. Mr. I almost got a ticket following MSM (Eric G., Silver VW)
6. Mr. UPS (Keith W, red BMW)
And at #7 (might be you or your friend) (Joe Silva, Silver WRX)
At #9 (also might be you) (Ryan Keefe, Silver WRX)
Yep, you're right ... you're WAY up there consistently right behind #1 driver Ethan in the black integra. D'oh!

Perhaps my time at the E-Center (aka super slippery sealed parking lot) was slower than yours by a second. My god ... I hope so. Perhaps you recall that the rear tires were so shot on the S2K (rear set from the hammered kumho's that should have been retired after cording at Wendover test-n-tune), that the car was a mess and was ultimately curbed.
If you'd like to see proof of my top 3 finish in overall PAX, check out the results for the last event of 2003. Last time the car was actually driven in an event in a class that the car was semi-prepped for (ASP). Where can I see results of even a top 10 PAX finish for you? You seemed to skip that question last time. What is your highest PAX finish?
I look forward to kicking your a$$ at Spring Mountain on 19-Mar.
Pls show up!-MSM
ps-- as to your drag racing claims. For a street car it comes down to three things:
1. RWHP
2. Traction to actually use the RWHP
-- Those two items are 90 to 95+% of what's involved --
3. Reaction time
No point debating the RWHP and traction. Driving skill is in reaction time and that's what I think we're talking about is driving skill.
At last years SCCA Pro Solo there was one driver out of 3,520 attempts that got a perfect reaction time of .05 seconds. That is 220 drivers and 16 attempts. Yep, it was some old fart (MSM)
. Never even bothered to cash the check from the SCCA 'cause I like looking at it.

You did awesome! As to the fighting ... we're not fighting. He's just blowing smoke out his a$$ and hoping we are impressed by the smell.

typical road racer attitude! i'm cooler than you!
on your listing of 3 things about drag, racing reaction time has no effect on your et! just thought i let a know it all how it really is! 60ft time & shifting doesn't help?

Just commenting on your claims. I'm still interested in your top PAX finish.
I'm not cooler than you ... I'm an OFM.
Net-net for a street car the 3 items I listed are the primary factors. If you're losing major fractions of a second shifting ... well ... d'OH! Very common for a driver with street car at a drag strip to lose major fractions of a second or full seconds based on reaction time.
I don't mean to be an a$$ but don't tell me how much faster you are than me at an auto-x and make ridiculous claims about how well you've done in SM.

So how can we help that one guy convince his parental units he needs more AWDHP?
Whoa there, can you say re-living teenage high school picked on days??? You need to re-read my post, then calm down, take it in, and realize that I never once said Ethan drives a black integra(in fact if you look earlier in this thread you'll see me telling your son that ethan drives a white civic hatch). I said "the guy in the black integra" I know ethan well, he's ridden with me a number of times, and coached me through a few different autocrosses. As I said the last event that I raced was wendover spring of this year. The last race I recall times correctly from was state fair park middle of summer 2003, and I believe I was in the top five or six fastest times of the day directly behind Mitch Warren who's car I co-drove at the time. I will look for results on the last event I was in, and go from there.
You however need to calm down, I specifically stated that all i'd like to do is have a little bit of friendly competition, I never expected you to have the full on nascar Richard Petty attitude of I'm so better than you and you are blowing smoke out your ***.
I'll dig up some results from quite a ways back, post them, and go from there. Until then please try to act like the "Adult" you are...

Come to think of it, the times you posted from the wendover event above, would not be the one I attended. Dan was playing mr. registration and his car was out of order. Matt Guiver broke a wheel half way through the event, and co-drove Ray Chiang's evo, and Eric beat me by about 2 seconds in the PAX standings. Just be patient, I'll find some actual scca results.................
