Utah Evos
Yeah, I've been the only person to note that altitude screws you with the patch really.
I went up to powder mountain and my car BARELY started and then it wouldn't idle on it's own until it warmed up.
I think the majority of the guys using it are not daily driving their cars so they aren't running across the little glitches. I've also noticed some of the guys tuning the cars leave the cars super rich which helps hide some of the driveability issues since the car will drive right through rich AFRs but lean AFRs will cause misfires.
I've actually gotten better fuel economy on the speed density patch then on the MAF and driveability above 2000 RPM, it's not even a comparison the SD is SO much better. Particularly when climbing hills. My car surged and stumbled like crazy going up hills on the MAF, now it's silky smooth.

I was thinking about sending my ecu to vishnu, to get re-mapped. Is that a bad idea?? It seems pretty reasonable. Also I'm looking for a good place to get tints done in SLC, any advice?
Also over the weekend I tried to strike up a convo with a guy who owned an MR and got snubbed, probably wasn't anyone from around here though.

. Not sure how they work with Evo's.
Thank you thank you
Ooo okay, don't really know him :P
Thank you dallin, it makes the front end look so much better. I love the whole new set up thanks to you and juan.
A red evo with a nose chop would be siiiiiick

I'm also told that there is a local tuner here who might help. as mentioned earlier in this thread, he goes by Criddlen, and you might want to see if he has some time to talk with you about your options or what have you.
Bottom line, I think in nearly all cases, sending your entire ECU off is unnecessary, and gets you no additional benefit.
To get an e-tune done, I assume nearly all tuners will expect you have: a tactrix cable (or some other means to get your tune on to the ecu), logs of your AFR, ignition timing, etc (basically a wideband), and knowledge of any mods you've put on the car.
Before even considering changing your ecu tune at all, I'd encourage you to consider getting both a wideband and boost gauge (if you don't already). Once you're familiar with how its all working for you now, you'll actually be able to start making minor adjustments to squeeze more power out of your car on your own. There are TONS of resources here to teach you how to do it, and lots of helpful people around, also. I know it sounds intimidating, but really, once you learn how to decipher your logs and what they mean in relation to your car, you'll find it a lot easier to understand than you may have expected.

Sam, it looks sweet without that cloudiness!
How are you doing this nose chop? I do some light paint/body myself, are you just cutting the "Beak" off? It looks CLEAN, Im thinking about doing it on mine after I get my head/tail lights blacked out.
