with the AP coming out so soon I think it would be financially better to wait and just have cobb tune your car.

Or with bbb's mom coming out,....oh wait...

Do some reading on the ecuflash forum first before you decide to spend hard earned $$ on something that we can do right now. How crazy is your setup?

munoa13 and i are well over 320 on a tbe, mbc, and some tuning. Our tools are every bit as powerful as theirs.

P.S he wasn't looking to tune his car he was looking for someone to tune it for him. Why pay for a plane ticket hotel stay and all that stuff when someone local can do it.

That is what I am holding out for, of course I had to pay to have Torquefreaks fix Al's flash already.

I keep hearing about so many people having problems on Al's tune. I Even know a guy who blew up a motor on alcohol and one of Al's custom tunes. Sent a rod throught the block. Bummer. Mine tune seemed okay for a road tune. A/Fs were fine. We put it on on the dyno and it made decent power and the graph looked fairly smooth. Jasons VIII with Al's tune was awesome! It decimated my Stage 2 STi. I just added to my then evo envy.

I had Al tune my old BBY Evo and the tune was fine and made great power for what I had. That custom tune took an extra trip to see him the next morning to fix a very low idle and soured my enthusiasm for dealing with him. Then I pick up my new Evo which Al had just custom tuned for alky and it is throwing a constant check engine light and has a terrible cold idle. E-mail Al and he says he will fix it next time he is out this way It was starting to get cold and the idle issue was getting worse (car was taking longer to warm up), I felt the solution could not wait for a return trip by Al. I went to Oregon for a funeral and on the way back stopped at Torquefreaks in Portland to have them analyze the issue. It really stumped them but they kept plugging away until they found that my injectors were not scaled correctly. Changed the scaling and the issues both were solved, but the car had to be completely retuned. When Al did my first car there were not alot of options for flashes but the market has grown and there are many more tuners available now. I, personally, will never give Al any more of my money, I would rather pay anyone else to tune my car just so I do not have to deal with him.

Are you running super rich? If you do have a boost leak (after the turbo), the MAF would still see the air flow coming in and compensate for that air with extra fuel. If your afs are still pretty close to where they should be, then you may have another issue.

I have heard that leaks in the lines running to and from the boost controller are pretty common. I have also heard of leaks in the line to the boost gauge, are you down on power?

you are such a *****. btw, those tires worked quite well on saturday, thanks again. One is corded (bad) but the other three are in decent shape. If you find a spare and want them back i'll make you a special deal!

I read somewhere that you had some issues with the gps data aq you were running this season. I know its super cheap, but i am trying to decide betweent that and the fuel solution (about $200 more, but has 10hz resolution). any thoughts?

I did have some issues when I first got it. Problems with the bluetooth connection from the GPS unit to the PocketPC. They resolved it and the unit worked out really well. VERY hard to beat for the price ($299) for basic GPS lap timing and data logging. Company is http://www.maxqdata.com. I sold mine to some punk a## kid with an Evo as I want to do some more sophisticated data analysis next season. Though the more I think about the price difference ($299 vs $2k) ... the more I wonder if I shouldn't have just stayed with the MaxQ.

The real-time display of lap and segment times while on the track is what the MaxQ does well. The data analysis is limited to some simple visual playbacks and ability to see lateral g's and other gps values.

yeah Al is alot of talk, he told me he was a certified aem tuner, but when he was attempting to get my car running he had to keep calling some guy on the phone asking him questions. Apart from him not knowing what he is talking about. he is a complete ahole, and I can't stand being around him.

Someone said to me that there is DSM link now for the Evo. I'm still trying to decide if i want to have AEM or DSM link. I could also stay with the flashed ecu.

With Cobb down there I would stick with a flashed ECU and use their Accessport, depending on what your goals are for your car.
