Yeah, bummer though, someone local with cams for a decent price would be what I'd go for. Too bad the overall response in most of the forums is the S1s hands down, especially for road racing, lots of people have switched to them from the 272s... They're like 264s that make the top end of 272s as well.

hey guys, well yesterday my third gear synchro went out. . I still have the powertrain warrenty and i'm taking it to The Mike Riddle service department next thursay. . couple of questions. . My car has a turbo timer, a k&N drop in, and is lowered. . . will that have any effect on them fixing it or not? also im not sure if I have the stock clutch or not because I am the second owner. . Will they cover this do you think?

You shouldn't have any problems, especially since your not having problems with the parts you have upgraded. I have talked to Ken Garff dwontown about this type of stuff and they said it's no big deal. Unless the service manager is having a bad day or doesn't like you then you should be ok.

I can't say how well they work quite yet, but I picked up the FP 280+ cams for my evo for $420 shipped. I ran the FP2 cams in my last 4G63 and I have nothing but great things to say about them. From what I have experienced, they DESTROYED HKS 272s in powerband and peak power. On 20 PSI and 91 octane, the car went 116mph through the traps. The car also idled perfectly fine with 950s, DSMLink ECU, stock MAF, and a TiAl BOV. The car also picked up 5mpg from the stock cam, 450 setup. Go figure. Nasty power and better fuel economy.

The 280+ cams are supposed to be a little more aggressive then the FP2 cams. I'm pretty excited to give them a try. Even on the stock turbo, I expect them to work out quite well. They are more suited to larger turbochargers though.

This guy on Man vs. Wild is a crazy sum *****...

If they put THAT much effort into proving you don't have a warranty, do what we should've done... Say "okay, no warranty, great, what do I owe you so far?" then tow it somewhere else to put a higher quality aftermarket tranny put in. Both TRE and Shep will likely buy your broken old one from you, or even rebuild it for you, either way, you'll be better off than footing a huge bill to the stealerships.

But remember, under warranty law, they have to PROVE beyond any doubt that the clutch or other aftermarket parts (haha, the k&n filter) caused the problem.

well the lady seemed really nice, I just told her the tsb for the problem and told her that I just got the car from their dealership. So i'm hoping they dont give me any fuss and they just fix it.

Ok guys here are the final details for the drive.

What: Spring meet/ drive to lunch/ eat, whatever...
When: Saturday, March 17
Where: Meet @ This is the Place Monument parking lot @ 10:00 a.m.

I figure we can meet up around 10:00and hang out for a few and shoot the **** and then head up the canyon around 10:30 or so. That will give time for any late comers to show up. It is supposed to be great weather this weekend so it should be a great turn out! Tell any one you know that might be interested in joining to come. The more the merrier!

Also, we will be starting the drive through Emmigration canyon and take this through to East canyon. From East canyon we will hook up with I-80 east (Parley's) and head up to Park City for some food at Main Street Pizza & Noodle (bomb *** food)! From here we can do what ever the hell we want to!

Hope to see some Evo's there
I am likely to be coming. But don't wait up for me just in case.

Riley, Mike, you guys all gonna meet us up there?

Final reminder about the drive

Ok guys I just wanted to send out one last verification of plans.

We are planning to meet at This Is the Place Monument parking lot across from Hogle Zoo. It is roughly 3300 E. and Sunnyside in Salt Lake. I will attach a link to the map at the end of this message. Figure on meeting between 10 and 10:30 here and we'll hang out for a few and check out the cars, etc. while everybody that plans on coming gets there. We can cruise up shortly after that and then tear through Emmigration canyon and take that to East canyon. East canyon will take us to Parleys canyon nd then up to Park City for some lunch.

East Canyon will have some great photo spots and the drive is beautiful. I don't know about right now as all the trees are still in winter mode and stuff but it should be good.

After that we will head up to Park City for some pizza. Looking for a good turnout on a perfect Saturday.

PM me if you have any questions. I will check it once before I leave tomorrow.
