I second that motion/statement wingless evo's FTMFL, just kidding though, not my thing either, maybe a lip spoiler could stop me from passing judgement

On a second thought the evo/sti is really the only cars, in my opinion, that pull the huge ricer spoiler thing off. To me it balances the car out.

The balancing the car statement is exactly how I feel, I feel like the back is heavily missing something without it... Plus, it makes a difference in the "twisties"

./agree UT_Evo

From the general feeling of "those who know" the wing is a very functional element coming hot into a corner. In fact from the AMS boys they went extreme to a very high wing in order to maximize downforce in the back.

From the Paul Gerrard school of thought, he recommends for street / light-track a sonic-the-hedgehog vortex generator and a gurney flap on the original wing MINIMUM.

Relative to the suspension this helps keep the rear from playing the B'Spears Dance Dance Revolution every time you come braking from the 100+mph down to about the sub 80mph range. Funky light-rearend oversteer at this point can be slightly unnerving.

Enjoy

That Is The best looking IS250 Yet that I have seen. I would roll in that for a nice daily driver. I would rather have the bigger motor like the IS350 but I would also like the AWD. If they only made the IS350 AWD then I would be down

Has anyone seen this Video from Top Gear? I found it today and it was so fun to see. Check it out

Between your is & his or my evo & ur is350?

Best/most recent pass I made was 12.7@108 missing 4th gear. I had a 1.68@60ft the pass after that and couldnt get into 2nd. Didn't get another pass cuz my brother was whining to leave. I think I've got the tranny notches out changing out the fluid but eventually I'll have it shep built. So next time I'm able to hit the track after the winter season & I'll have more power and maybe throw on some diff rims/tires I will make a high 11 pass and if I don't I'll have my friend dan bajallas make a pass in it

Between Zach and I in any varying cars Zach would win, guarentee you I'd do a 12 flat in a 9 second car

Yeah, I totally forgot about the AMS Evo's wing, Riley can chime in on how freakin huge that thing is when we went in their garage and were checking it out while they put his seat in the car. The thing is so huge it is connected down in the rear bumper's main brace if I remember right, with big wires connected to the top of the trunk... that is a wing, not a spoiler

There's a corner on Spring Mountain's full track that is the best place to demonstrate "wingness" its about a 120 mph sweeper to the right. And I remember trying it in the S2k before and after the spoiler, night and day difference. And I can't even imagine the bigger heavier Evo going around without the spoiler. Even if it could pull it off I doubt it would feel very comfortable.

If you think funky light oversteer on hard braking is scary, try funky light oversteer on any decrease in forward Gs... Stupid Porsche rear engine BS, first time I was out there in it and lifted off the throttle in a corner I knew, uh, that it was a bad idea But then I figured out that it works just like the Evo, point and fire and the car digs in and pulls you around.

Know what you should do Wes?!?! You should get an automatic wing that deploys out of the trunk like the Porsche one! Then you can be wingless when it doesn't matter and wing-ed when it does! And, you'd also have one really cool Evo

FTMFW Wing

I did get some cf hood dampers today it was supposed to be a engine damper but o well o and I got that forge bov I put it on and it is holding boost and not doing anything goofy so far & looks alright so I'll cross my fingers

Damn I should paint the top of my battery but that would probably void the warranty huh?

Guys, I am thinking about making the switch! I just put my STI up as a feeler on the Subaru forums, we will see what happens.

The next step is selling the Evo and buying a luxury sports car, as per tradition
