Utah Evos
No, I was trying to figure out when the canyon would open for a drive... Jeez
Dirty kid!
And seriously, I posted it 7:30 am, and it took this long for anyone to respond, you all fail

Oh right, I forgot to call... I went to taco bell and had to rearrange my interior in order to get my burrito to fit... I just knew there was a reason I should've kept the Evo
But your trunk probably wasn't clean for a long time, likely a lot of post-it notes to take out and store in the garage.

Officemax man, officemax... Or Staples, we've got that, betcha they have post-its. But do they have normal stores down in Happy Valley? Or do you have to go to the church drives to pick up things like post-its?
when is this so called "drive" going to happen? why don't we just go to the track the next time it's open for free drive? Oh, btw my buddy came down to the "happy valley" last time it snowed and begged me to let him drive my evo home to SLC from provo. I guess his 06' Porsche 911 has some snow traction issues. Anyway, when he came the next day to pick up his car we made a few runs, needless to say who won, even though my evo doesn't have much done to it, just all the bolt-ons and a healthy dose of a 91/100 octane mixture. After we had our fun i tried to figure out how he justifies his $1800 a month payment when my "rice burner" (what he calls it) takes him with no problem. He says there is more to it than that when you own a porsche. I got to drive it, and i'll admit that it has a very comfortable torque curve and it is probably the best relatively fast car for a DD. But for some reason i just can't get over the feeling of an evo in 2nd gear with WOT. Can i get a witness???

But the thing is a porsche is a porsche so thats how your buddy justifies having a bigger car payment
there's just nothing more to be said then that
evo's are all performance ..the porsche is all everything

Amen, even I'll be your witness. I don't know how you'd justify an 1800 dollar payment either. 320 on the other hand... Not so bad. But of course you beat him, I beat Turbos in my Evo, and Z06s. The Evo is hands down the best bang for the buck performer. But, that's about all it does. The Porsche does a pretty good job at performing, AND has all the luxury. And then some. You wish you could drive like a badass every day (which, we all do, or we wouldn't post on here) and do an oil change every 15k miles. That's right, 15k. Also, I think the average rate of failure on Porsches is a little less than Evos... Just a little... Plus we have cruise control

But the Evo with 3-5k in it can beat a lot of factory Gods. Had I built mine with a bit better components, and had a FickerFlash
I'd have been crazy fast... course, using slicks was kinda cheating, but I had R-compounds on with the Turbos and the Z06s.And your friend should be kicked in the nuts for calling it a rice burner, he's the kinda Porsche owner that gives us all a bad name, maybe not, but still the Evo is more like... More like exotic burner.
Evos are damn fast, and I will never ever think I'm faster than anything more than a stock Evo (unless its on a track, then I might stand more of a chance w/ the driver mod
). But there comes a time in every man's life where speed isn't all that matters
I'm sure he let you decenlty push the Porsche, but until you've pushed one to the point of being scared, you'll never understand. Plus nothing beats hearing the H6 every day
IMO the best sounding engine/s in the world. Don't get me wrong though, if it weren't for the triple diamond badging... if only it had a big H on the front and the back, then I'd buy the Evo X in place of my Porsche.I'd prefer not spending 35k on a car just to have it break, explode, or otherwise stop working within the first month, and then have my warranty denied... I've had better "warranty" OUT-of warranty work done on the Porsche than any warranty work on the Evo

"Your car is showing full boost..."
"Then why is it only boosting 12 psi"
"We dunno, we are Mitsubishi techs, we know nothing, and so, we can't fix that under warranty either"
But the drive will happen probably first weekend or so after East canyon opens back up. We could do it sooner, but the other canyons are no where near as fun, especially with all the skiiers/boarders going up and down. And the cops patrolling...

True, not quite as fun as the smaller canyon roads, but we could do that, up to Heber/Midway area. Then either back down or over to PC and then down through I80 and then I-15, or somewhere else if someone else has an idea (the Alpine loop isn't bad, but likely is closed from the snow). That'd be easier on the Happy Valley folk anyway, we'd hate to put any more stress on them. And as far as Utah's finest, I don't know, its been a while since I've been up or down Provo canyon in the winter. Last time I drove that road was in August a few days after getting my car actually.
Thought I'd jump in. Just brought my EVO back from Seattle.

My buddies and I go up Provo Canyon often. We don't see the police too often but often enough to keep the speeds reasonable. It's a pretty drive though with the snow and the falls.
