Fo shizzie! I might be getting it done first thing tomorrow morning. I'm way stoked. I've been granny driving it off and on since last march, so it'll be nice to be able to hammer on it without fear of that B.S. (bull ****/balance shaft) belt breaking! It's pretty sad when you've been driving your car like this for so long where you plan out the towing plan in your head, before you drive the car anywhere!

Turbo Labs is chargin me about 300 to do it. It sounds like a good deal since he does good work ya know.

Then I got the kit for 120 w/ a 150 core charge from AMS.
Got that deal from PRICEMATCHEDPARTS.COM. He's here in Orem. Their site is still under construction.

Hey thank you. It's comin along one piece at a time. I've worked alot of overtime for toys for that car! I love the cams. They feel the same as my buddy's HKS', IMO. I like the lopey idle and they pull very aggresively, even though I'm still on my stock tune. They're solid core with a clean grind, look very well built, and the best part, half the price!

What is your hp goal? and what made you remove your balance shafts?

My goal is to run 10's, full street trim, daily driver, eventually. So whatever horsepower I need to make that happen is what I'm aiming for. Stroker w/ a 37r should put me there, I believe.

As for the reason for eliminating the shafts, I've broken 2 belts in one year, plus eliminating the rotational mass of the shafts will help with winding up the motor quicker, simular to doing a lightweight flywheel. To much at risk when that belt breaks. It can rip off your crankshaft position sensor, ruin your oil pump, possibly damage your head if it doesn't shut right down, starve the motor for oil and so on.

more vibration though? right?

I can't wait to see how much HP you are going to get out of the balance shaft removal. I mean stroker and 37r should work but I could not tolerate the lag. I am going for the same goal but I will stay with a stock motor and I will either go with a 57 or 58 trim.

From my findings, most of the people that have done the bs removal don't really notice too much vibration at all. Some said they didn't notice any at all. Even their motor mounts seem to handle it fine. Most of them say if you run a engine torque dampener, it helps reduce the wear on the motor mounts due to the removal.

There was an 9 MR with salvage title and 10k miles on ebay a while back that was listed twice and he ended up selling it for 19k. I believe you would be hard pressed getting anything closed to 18k with salvage title and 53k miles ouch. If you want to sell it you should be in the 14k range, just my 2 cents.
