Thanks, I'll be on the road hopefully next week. Hit a small snag however we went to install RRM's tie-bar but found that torqueing them to 89 Ft lbs caused the thread on the camber bolt to strip, now it wont tighten at all - So ive had to try and change it now and order a new camber bolt - hope it aint too hard to change. I think ill just tighten the tie bar tight next time.

wow, just saw this for the first time and spent a good half hour reading everything..

amazing

im jealous... but kinda curious... y no turbo or s/c? is this going to make that big of a difference on its own?

and 12-13k... is that a deal? cheaper than buying an evo?
i understand the idea is that its a project to be proud of... but as a daily driver. do u foresee having any problems with it. or do you think itll be as good as a stocker..

and lastly... i would assume the 4g63 would be less expesive since its older and more popular of a motor... y didnt you chose to do that for more possibilty of power?

cheers!

No turbo and s/c because I will do that in about a years time - 150Whp + is a big step from my 70Whp.

The 4G69 was a much easier swap than the 4G63, so thats why I didnt do that.

I mainly changed my engine for better drivability, not huge power.

We've changed the whole car to ralliart parts now - so its not different, as my car was a UK lancer ralliart anyhow in all but engine - mine even came with momo wheel, vortex gen and evo spoiler!

Evos are about £36,000, so a £11,000 engine swap seems ok for me. I'll admit its expensive and a better idea would be to trade in a get another car, but I love my lancer so much - and just wanted more power in it, and I was fully prepared to pay the price to do it, over a year and a half of buying parts and researching now! First thing I ever bought was the ECM a year and a half ago - didnt get the engine until last march.

so there are basically no parts for your car in the UK... if you have any problems its going to be a problem everytime to get parts..

wow double the power... i think you will be set for a while lol...

good luck keep the pics and info coming!

I find I can get parts very easily from vw-auto-parts.com, however the 4G69 is used in three other models in the UK - Grandis MPV, Shogun 4x4 and galant.

Today we connected up most of the plugs on the harness, put in the other oil temp sensor and started on mounting the gauge pods.

Still got to put in the new fuel pump, put the radiator back on, set up the dual catch can system, change the oil pan, and fill the fluids.

lmao .... chavin good times!

COngrats on all the work .... and to be honest, i reckon u'll be hungry for more power sooner than u think! I went from a 1.3L echo/yaris to my 4g69 lancer wagon .... ive only had the lancer less than 3 months, and im already craving more power

Today I put in the intake. Originally I was going to use the AEM Bypass, but it pulled apart and broke extremely easily when we tried to mount the intake. Peice of crap product. The filter points up is 2feet above ground and has a rain guard, if water was going to get sucked up, the water would be as deep as to enter the cabin.

After that we installed the battery and connected most of the plugs up. We also fitted the pulley belt.

Tomorrow it'll be fuel pump, axles and wheels and maybe some more.
