Lancer Drivetrain Damper

reTro -

One of the reasons that I'm going to sell this is so that guys won't have to replace the engine mounts, which is a nasty job, after which the whole car vibrates. I'll share something that I learned while doing a drivetrain lash demo on the dyno the other day - there are three engine mounts, and they all contribute to drivetrain lash. The damper won't remove all of the lash, but it should put a good dent in it.

Well if you build it we will buy it... seriously thou this will help out a lot for those doing racing the amount of engine tramp that I got in my previous car was terrible in fact it got so bad that it actually smashed up my T/B... the cold air intake pipe was probably mounted too firmly and had very little movement in it so when the car was floored the engine moved but not the CAI and the weakest point was the T/B which shattered luckily no metal went into the intake manifold... so yeah cut a long story short.... you build it I will buy it... have tried others but they were usless

There's already one out there for the Evo, check in the Evo Vendor for sale forum.

Robert, any progress with the engine damper? How about the master cylinder brace?

Damper

Is this part gonna be plug-n-play or does it need to be welded to the body?

I think I remember it being bolted on in it's Evo form... so the RA part should be the same. So a couple of holes would have to be drilled I guess... no big deal.

Well, here's how one of them looks on the EVO... your guess is as good as mine, but there's a least one bolt on the engine and one on the firewall... probably more like 2 on each end. Anyway, Rob would be the best person to answer this...
