OBX Headers
OBX Headers
Hey Guys,
Have been a proud owner of a 04 Ralliart for some months now and this is my first post over here
I was just wondering that anybody has these OBX headers installed in their RA?
http://www.obxracingsports.com/products.php?pk=1777#
How do they perform? They seem to be cheaper than the ones listed at RRM!
Also my front shocks are leaking oil and the rear ones are already dead! I am thinking of replacing them with an aftermarket coilover set! The problem is that I could only find these at RRM and Ebay, which are located in the states. Anybody knows of any good ones that I can get here in Ontario?
Thankx

I can't really help with buying stuff in Canada but there's a lot of Canadians here that will pop in soon enough
Be sure to use the search feature as most of the questions have been answered a few times. Also be sure to post up in the link in my signature

I have the obxheaders and i like them alot.... Your going to have to weld a cat on it though if you wNt to pass emmisions and if you dont like it loud.... I never did lol i like the sound and the cat is restrictive anyway but i get hasseled by the popo.... As for coils.... BC racing is the best bang for the buck i ordered the, right off the bc racing website cost about $1000 not too much of a diffrence from buying from a dealer
Perfect Thankx a lot guys for the info. Lol I have to save a lot of money before I order these things in.
I am having an issue with the cv axle right now. It is making a lot of noise when I turn and drive! I went to the specialists just to find out that they are ceased and do not come out easily (as they are rusted pretty badly)
They will have to break in and afterwards replace the wheel bearings too! Probably going to be a $500 Job!

I am just assuming it to be $500 because the mechanic told me its going to cost me $300 before he found out that the wheel bearings also need to be changed. The bearings cost $70-80 each, so my estimate would be around 500-600 now!
Lool at the Mitsubishi dealers! I called them in to ask for the price and they told me something around 2K
without the installation and the wheel bearings!

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/04...-ralliart.html
Check CAPS off Merivale or off Innes road for the parts you need or these guys http://www.autopartsottawa.ca.
Warning, removing the seized axle can lead to needing a new ABS sensor too.
There is a place on Gladstone between Bank & Bronson that rebuilds OEM axles for a decent price.
Good luck.

My mechanic suggested that I go to the specialists for CV in Gatineau named "A1 CV Tech" (website: http://www.a1cvtech.com) and get it checked from there. Now I am going over there tommorow for the CV but its a good thing you just told me about the ABS sensor
Do you have phone number/address for the specialist on Gladstone?
Thankx a lot.

I just got my CV done today. I am amazed at the guys at A1 CV Tech. Even though the axle was seized but they still managed to take it out and rebuild it without breaking the wheel bearing as well as the ABS sensor still intact and working! It cost me only $300 and they have given me a lifetime warranty for the job!
I was really worried after I read one of the topics posted over here regarding the changing of the front wheel bearing ( https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/04...alliart-2.html).
You guys should definitely check these guys out if you live in or around Ottawa/Gatineau area for CV, Wheel Bearing, Struts etc related work.

The next Job I probably need is to replace my suspension with the Aftermarket Coilovers. Anybody has tried out these D2 sets from Ebay?

Or should I get the BC or Megan ones?

For the same price I would go with the Tein ones there the best quality.
As to the OP. I got the OBX Header/Dp combo from what I can see there seems to be a little more power but ever since ive installed them I hear a ticking sound seems like its coming from the header.
