Just talked to my insurance. They are paying a mechanic to go look at my car and represent them. In Michigan we have the no fault law, so a mechanic has to make the call, not the insurance. The insurance can not place blame because of this. Stupid rule. So their hired a mechanic. This will hopefully get it done

I'm pretty sure a local guy had the same thing happen to him, the dealer tried everything to blame it on him but I think they finally fixed it all.

The weld breaks from rusting or just being weak, and then it causes the whole thing to snap off and sheer back. If you go out and inspect your vehicle, you'll see where I'm talking about. Very poor design in my opinion, and people should look at these on their cars to see if there isn't a poor weld job or any rusting out occuring. I'll definetly be keeping an eye on mine. =/

Being in such disbelief that a major front end component could fail so badly, I decided to cross-post over to vwvortex for some car lounge insight. To the OP, hope you don't mind and good luck with everything!

Lmao i like the guys comment about me flying through the air into curbs. Would I not have had bent rims if I curbed a rim hard enough to damage my control arm? I've never hit a curb in my life. Also I haven't done very much highway driving at all, so no pot hole damge.

Wow... this is getting to be quite a nuisance. I would make sure everybody in that dealership knows where you stand and how close to the edge you are. Especially those who are tryin to enter your personal life and judge you and your family's personal matters. Sorry that freak accident happened and I wish you the best of luck, man. Ooh this makes me mad.

Don't step down and don't settle without them giving you what you deserve!

well so far this is on 5 forums that I have seen. (evoM, VW, Ford Contour, xceedspeed, and MI EVO) I hope mitsu and my dealership are enjoying all of this negative publicity.
