Jeez.

This thread is scaring me, get help if you're not comfortable with this please, the other thread you linked to is convoluted at best. Here's the instructions from All-Data, there should be some resistance on the feeler gauge but not too much, you will only turn the crank once after you find TDC the first time and make sure the motor is HOT 176F to 203F. Good luck.

PS,
That sound you hear is your valve train being hammered to death.

O haha you want to do it today. Unlikely that you'll get it from anywhere shipped by tonight at 4:30... Sears should have something, if not you can make your own.. but a cheap 10mm socket, drill it out at the top, shove a screw driver through the top and tape a handle to the socket so you can tighten it.. haha

Fear can be your friend. You may be able to pick up the tool you mention at a Honda Motorcycle dealer. Do you follow the instructions I attached??? But seriously I wouldn't drive the car the way it is now.

i have been, well below 3k.

man i cannot wait to get home and get this error of mine corrected.

as i read over your directions (while not doing work at work)
i came down to 8.
I do not have a torque wrench, and i think the one my friend has is far too big...
in the walkthrough mys wrote, it says that the force of just your thumb and index finger should be enough...
any advice?

Tight but not too tight

Just get the lock nuts tight, as long as they don't back off your good. Tight but not too tight. 1/4 in ratchet is good but check clearence after they are tight they can move the screw when turned.

1/4 a ratchet turn? that seems a little much...
what i was thinking of doing was finger tightening it,
and with the box wrench, just give it enough of small turn til its tight.
bout the force of a thumb and index finger.

***OMFG!***

I have the absolute worst luck ever...

I tried, i failed...
might be time for a part out but i might be wrong...
thought i snugged everything good...
it went bad.

I took the car out after what i thought was a complete job.
it still had a minor sound,
so i took it back to the garage, and opened the engine,
to my absolute horror...
rocker 4 valve 2, the jam nut is gone.
someone PLEASE help...
