offtopic: RX-8 comparison against G35 and Mustang
http://www.caranddriver.com/article....&page_number=1

dunno about vs M3.

The thing is, if Canada HAD the Evolution, there wouldn't be much of a problem. But we can't get them over here due to bumper laws Guess that makes our cars a bit safer, though. Still, Subaru took the time to design a car that would pass the Canadian bumper test and got the 2.5RS in here. You'll notice that between 1998-2001, the 2.5RS front bumpers between the American and Canadian models are different.

I'm guessing if we had the EVO here, it would probably cost 32K-36K (CDN) easily. Some of us just don't have that sort of money to spend, nor the money to insure it either. I guess that's why, in my opinion, the Ralliart Lancer is sort of a good compromise. You get some of the EVO attitude for your daily driving and autocrossing and dragging, and you don't have pull out major loans to get it. One review called the Ralliart "An Evolution on Decaf". I've never driven an EVO, but the Ralliart definitely had a ton of attitude when I drove it. And this was the Ralliart Sportback automatic!

AWD and Turbo for $16k was just too much to pass up for me LOL.
That mazda 3 time slip was an auto with the "Sport Tronic" thing..or what ever they call it.

O well..I'm happy with the WRX.... 2 more Mods, and I'll be over 300HP.

One other reason I went the WRX...they Respond VERY well to Mods. Stock 227..I now have around 285, and all I have is a Turbo back exhaust and a ECU reflash.
Next in line...Up-pipe, and headers..that should put me around 310 flywheel.

if you guys now any WRX guys, show them this stuff

I heard WRX has much turbo lag below 3500 rpm, correct? (Wow, now we're really going off topic).

wrx is a piece of trash, for the same price you can buy an EVO RS. wrx vs ralliart, without a launch, i put my money on the ralliart.

boni, your looking at a 70hp difference. Not a really small gap between the two cars. Besides, one is an AWD.

Jesse - Keep in mind though, we can't get the Evo's over in Canada (which is where Boni is from). The closest thing we have here is the WRX and STi.

put the Ralliart and WRX in snow or heavy rain or a rallycross course, and the WRX will walk all over the Ralliart.

Sure, stock WRX ain't much of a mover in the really low RPMs. In fact, I think the Ralliart would probably shoot ahead of it if both of them were in a drag race. However, once the turbo spools up for the WRX ... hmm...

I'm a rally nut. If Mitsu ever made the Ralliart AWD, I would consider getting that one over the FWD model.

I'm familiar with that model Saw it on a Japanese webpage.
I was thinking if there was an AWD Ralliart in North America. But then, compared to the EVO, it wouldn't do as well; price-wise and power-wise and comparison-wise.

Very nice to see what you got. I am sure your car is a lot of fun, especially compared to an OZ. But I am going to have to be "that guy" for a sec (which I usually hate being) and say I still dont think you have as much power as the stock Evo. If I recall they are putting as much as 235-245 WHP stock. Still very nice and please dont think I am that shmuck. I just remembered you saying that you have more HP than the stock Evo. I might be wrong but either way, nice setup.

Thanks, and I don't think your being a shmuch...no I don't have as much Wheel Horsepower as an EVO, but I do have more at the Flywheel...cobbtuning's stage 2 puts 285 at the flywheel....it's just that WRX's seem to suffer really bad drivetrain loss....wow I just realized something...61hp lost from flywheel to the wheels...that Sucks
but anyway...I kind of miss the OZ...it was LOUD and Yellow..the WRX is Quiet and White...but this is way more fun to drive.

I really wanted an EVO, but I just don't have that kind of cash....16k for a used WRX, now that's nice.

Back to this Ralliart vs thing

I did race one once... he took me off the line for a second, but as soon as the turbo spooled it was over...I ran 13.39 @ 101.9 mph
he ran something like 15.9 sec @ 80 something...I don't remember the MPH

EDIT: Quick off topic question..How much WHP do EVO's Have....I know the STI puts down 238WHP(cobbs stock baseline #)...but how about the EVO
