no I wasn't incinuating anything i just don't want this place invaded by haters again. Seriously The XRS should've been built by honda... high HP no tq. Who knows the ralliart could've been the worst automatic driver ever... but i think the fact they have a 6 speed plays in their favor... but ...
considering we have 162 tq. (140 conservative) and they have 124 (110 conservative) .... it's impossible for 120 in 4th gear unless he has like a powerband to 14000 rpms.
We have 5 speeds and our 4th ends at 100 or so... no more than 105 (i'd know) and for them to have shorter gearings but be at higher mph numbers? Something doesn't make sense... and by the time he got that high in 4th gear, the lancer would've/should've had him.
They'd have to have the widest gear ratios but there is definitely not enough tq to back that statement up.

I drive a corolla s also and it has pretty smooth acceleration, but torque sucks. btw you can hear the VVTi once you reach 3+ rpms.

How did you manage to reach 120 mph in 4th gear? How wide are the XRS's ratios. I'm not trying to start a flame match i just don't see how that is possible. a 5-speed should have a wider ratio and I don't know many cars that would do 120 in 4th not boosted with a 4 cyl.
And are you sure it wasn't a Oz Rally? If it were a real Ralliart it should have been a close drivers race. You guys beat us in HP hands down but we definitely win with tq and the Mivec System.

I can understand the heavier clunkier v6's... but I don't understand how A Corolla could beat a GSX or as Gs-t... Just my opinion. The Gsx is a different battle altogether.
AWD will make their launch and traction better.
the second generation Eclipses were only in the 2600-2700 lb range, not 3400.
I think it'll be more than you expected... especially if you were racing even a mildly modified GS-T or GSX.
1 last thing about the ralliart. It's been shown in 2 magazines (Car and Driver and I think Motor Trend that it can pull a 14.9 Stock.) Which I don't remember the XRS.
I believe Motor Trend Hit a 15.7.
I'm seriously starting to doubt he raced a true Ralliart.
The biggest factor in racing is this: The Driver. I know guys could race my car faster than me but i know a heck of a lot more guys that wouldn't keep up.
Not trying to pull a BS flag, but i've raced 3 XRS's and i'm stock.... not 1 kept up.

Oh yeah, i saw motorweek review on the XRS (on speed channel) and it ran a 7.6 0-60 and 16.1 1/4th. They did like alot of things like about it thou.

You know whats funny though. One day I am going back from work. It is raining hard. I see 93 or so mustang gt pulls up at the light. I am like waiting at the light. All of a sudden I hear him rew his engine couple times. I am like wtf? He is all looking over. I am like he is a fool to race fwd car on rain. We both punch it. He was head to head to me. About 40 miles an hour I start pulling on him. Got to about 60mph and slowed down. Second light he pulls up and does same crap. We both punch it. He was half car ahead of me. He had no traction on rain. What an idiot though lol
