The Ultimate 2009 Ralliart Thread mega merge
It has all the qualities of the first and second gen Eclipse but better. Relatively inexpensive, AWD (One from the IX. Many young people with Evo aspirations will swarm all over this car.), turbo engine with high tuning potential (Mega selling point for the tuner crowd), 4 doors for practicality (Most people like sedans), SST that shifts better than a manual (It can go into full automatic mode for the average driver).
If my predictions are correct this will be the most successful car for Mitsubishi. We all know that the first and second gen Eclipse is the most successful car in Mitsubishi history. They also hold the record for the highest selling sports coupe.
If Mitsubishi markets this car properly the companies reputation might be saved and more people will go Mitsu.

Most performance cars are moving to automated manuals (new Skyline, Ferrari, etc.). This technology is borrowed from F1. MB, BMW, Ferrari, Honda, and the other F1 teams can't be wrong. Where there is a will, there is a way.
Everyone is too wrapped up about how it's not going to hold the power. Someone will crack the code and re-tune the ECU to hold the power. They always find a way.

It's true, where there's a will there's a way. But the will has to be backed up with money. The same will be true for the aftermarket.
Does anybody REALLY know when the Ralliart is supposed to hit the showroom floors? I know the press releases and websites say Summer of 2008 but is that May or September or somewhere in between?
I have called a couple of local dealerships to find out and most don't have a clue. I had one dealership tell me that their shipment of Ralliarts would be arriving any day (I am pretty sure he was pulling my leg).
Does MMNA not tell these guys when they can expect to receive their vehicles?
The reason I ask is that I bought an '08 GTS that came with some paint and body damage. After several attempts to repair (it came back worse every time) they took the car back with the promise that I would buy the Ralliart when it arrived. So in the mean time I'm stuck driving a piece of junk pick-up truck. It's killing me....

I don't know if it helps much but according to this thread EvolutionM will be doing an official test drive in August so I'd imagine it will be available some time after that.
I wonder why so long?
The '09 Lancer GTS is out already. Isn't the Ralliart really a blend of GTS and Evo X? It's not like they are designing the car from the ground up...
Waiting till August or September would kinda' suck.

If I had to wager a guess, I'd say its a problem of production capacity for Mitsu. I know that they were having trouble meeting US demand for the Lancer GTS and I believe it is also selling like hotcakes in new markets like China and Russia and has been well recieved in Euro as well (I don't believe Euro has ever been a big market for Mistu in the past). Perhaps one part of the problems is availablity of the SST transmission. I don't think I've heard a confirmed answer as to why we don't have it yet in our Evo X. But these are all guesses on my part.

any new for a wagon version of the ralliart or gts? not that sportback that thing is a hatch...i want a legit wagon! i think they would look awesome as a wagon =] and if they do make a Ralliart Wagon it would fit well to fight against the WRX wagon/Legacy
