Car and Driver Comparo is out
Dealers are hurting everywhere. When it no longer makes sense to stay in a market, it is doubtful a company ever comes back. So, hopefully MITSU is not going to pull out of the US market. That would really suck to buy a new car and lose all the support network!
Where from because I haven't heard this type of talk for years? I recall in 2002 that type of talk but things have turned around since then as the redesigned Outlander and Lancer have sold quite well.
This is good summation to the Subaru Motor issues.

Mitsubishi's numbers aren't going up as fast as would be expected in Canada and the US, given their worldwide market share and original expectations in each country. Doubt they'll pull out of either country, but they may start cutting back on dealerships (or just letting them go under), given the slow growth.

Oh, which company actually grown in 08 on the car market? I'm just curious.
Mitsubishi finished in 08 with profit...
I dont know which other car maker did that..

They also start buying banks in US, but that is another subject

Subaru of America expects to post a sales increase, albeit a small one, in 2008, and will set records for three of its vehicles, says Tom Doll, executive vice president.
Subaru sales were up 1.2 percent for the first 11 months. Total U.S. light-vehicle sales were down 16.3 percent.
"We're doing it a good way. The quality of our sales is very good. We aren't selling a massive number of cars to fleets," says Doll.

While not the same kind of transmission as the SST, how can Hyundai get that much more economy out of theirs and MITSU be so bad with theirs?

"not the same kind of transmission as the SST"
Also it is a different engine. So why is this surprising?
