But the design is more accepted globally than the Impreza's. I admit that i didn't really like the new design when i saw the concept for the Lancer/Evo, it took me a few more times to look at all the lines to really appreciate it but it is more attractive and agressive lookin than the 02-06 Lancers IMO. I liked the 04-05 Impreza instantly, it didn't take time for me to adjust. The 06-07 looks good in black and at night. In the daytime eh....not so much.

Again, how is the design more accepted globally? Subaru's numbers are up, seemingly everybody else has their numbers going down which would suggest the exact opposite of what people are saying. If the cars are ugly, why are they selling? AWD isn't unique, they don't come packed with features, and they're not exactly cheap yet they're selling like hot cakes.
Again though, saying "AWD is standard" isn't really relevant since sure, it's comes standard but you're paying extra for it.
I wouldn't be that surprised if more Lancers were sold than Imprezas but Mitsubishi is also a larger company than Subaru. It's like saying that since the Corolla is a huge seller, it's a great car. That's not necessarily true. As another example, look at the Ford F-150, it sells like mad but is it a great truck?
If the cars were as ugly as people say they are (or act like they are on here), they wouldn't sell. If someone thinks the car is hideous and a visual abortion, they're not going to give a rat's *** about features much like how someone isn't going to care how great a girl's personality is if they can't even look at them without cringing.

How do u pay more for AWD if the prices are about the same for the competitors? And if u are paying more then its only by a few hundred dollars where as if u get it optional on a vehicle that offers it then u pay more than a grand. So in all the Subies offer more for less.
Subaru buys its parts from the same people everyone else does. If you look at the car, there are labels all over the place. It's not like Subaru can buy the same parts for cheaper just because it's Subaru, they have to pay for the metal, the plastic, etc. If you take the Impreza, the entry level Impreza isn't cheap, it costs roughly 21000$ CAD. By contrast, the cheapest Mazda3 is 15000$ CAD, if you want the GT it's about the same as the very base Impreza. The Lancer starts at 17000$ CAD, for the 21000$ for the Impreza you can get the Lancer GT. If we take the Mazda6, the base price is 23000$ CAD for 170 HP and 165 ft-lbs of torque with a 6-speed manual. The cheapest Legacy is 27000$ CAD for 170 HP and 170 ft-lbs of torque. If you take the 2006 MS6, which was AWD, the price was 35995$ for a 270 HP, 2.3 L engine. By contrast, for 41000$ CAD you can get a turbocharged AWD Legacy with 243 HP.

Now to be on ur side. If u want to say u would pay more in the long run, ok. With wear and tear on the AWD system u probably would pay more for the Subie in maintenance cost, tires etc. If this is what u mean i agree.
