evo 9 tuning

will the aem standalone will work with the evo 9...because the evo 9 has mivec? if it does work how can i tune it if us here in hawaii dont have a all wheel dyno system? can i still street tune it with the mivec? one of my friends has a evo 8 and they just street tuned it and just fooloed around with the air/fuel and thats all they did and his car went flying with tuning. can i do that with the evo 9 mivec? will i just have to fool with the air/fuel? if all these dont work then ill just get the evo8..let me know asap as i will be part of the evo family soon!

Bump, any new predicted release dates for the IX AEM, i'm pretty sure it would be a high demand item as the evo just keeps evolving (love the new seats, absoultely love em)

I called AEM and spoke to Justin Pawlak. He said they haven't had an Evo IX in there yet to even do any tests.

Does anyone have any concrete proof that the connectors are in fact different?

You can tune a car without a dyno. With the right tools you can adjust the air fuel ratios and timing. You should know what your doing though, dont want to break anything.

Just spoke with a Debbie @ AEM, no ETA on EMS for the IX, I have heard conflicting stories on if they will or not. She didn't have too much to say except no ETA.....

Evo 9's have 3 plugs, with 3 rows of pins. Evo 8's have 4 plugs, with 2 rows of pins. They are very different indeed.

The IX will seriously suck without a good standalone.

I spoke with someone (forgot his name) at AEM last week and they stated they will definitely be coming out with something for the 9, as their box for the 8 was one of their best sellers.
NO ETA, but I would expect sometime in 2007.
