wtf? My picture posting is acting up. I will put it on another site. I guess that would explain why no one has commented on the log thus far. Kinda hard to do when you can't see it.

Let me know if it's not fixed. I could see the log before, so I don't want to trust that it's up now.

Ok, it should be fixed now, if only everyone who tried to help would come back and look at the log?

U0184-LOST COMMUNICATION WITH RADIO
When Monitored:
With the ignition on
Battery voltage between 10 and 16 volts
IOD fuse installed
FCM is configured correctly
Set Condition: Bus messages not received from the Radio for approximately 2 to 5 seconds.
Possible Causes
CAN B BUS CIRCUITS OPEN OR SHORTED
DTCS RELATED TO BATTERY VOLTAGE, IGNITION, OR VIN MESSAGES
FCM NOT CONFIGURED CORRECTLY
RADIO
RADIO POWER AND GROUND
MODULE THAT SET THIS DTC

Would be nice if Cobb chimes in. Looks like it's a rare but not isolated event.

Now I wonder if this is related to the AP at all - maybe because AP users tend to look at the codes more frequently, we have noticed it.

well, talking to neil over at cobb...the engineers in utah are saying that the code isn't related to the AP as far as they know. They say it's more than likely something electrical. Only thing that I know of that might trigger this is the hardwire job on the Valentine one radar which I installed right before the tune. That's the only thing I can pinpoint to.

One thing I haven't mentioned before. The error code appears everytime I get on the car hard for the first time after start up. Once I shut it down it disappears. The next time I start up the car again, whenever I get on the gas into the upper rpm's it flashes with the error showing ASC OFF. It's getting annoying if you ask me.

Are you getting "ASC OFF" or are you getting a "CHECK TARMAC"? I was getting "CHECK TARMAC" when getting on it and it was because I was low on brake fluid.

I'd say that there might be a short somewhere from the V1 install if the error started to come when you installed it, but when you put the stock map on it doesn't do it.

Maybe the injectors are pulling a lot of juice on the AP map? What circuit did you hard wire the V1 to?

Just wanted to post an update here for everyone.

Yesterday I received my COBB AP. I drove the EVO to the dyno while still on its stock tune and man, it felt like it pulled nicely. I was very skeptical as to whether or not the AP would add much power at all from where it was.

I re-baselined the car and it made exactly what it did last time... roughly 275/290.

Threw in the Stage 2 off the shelf 93 octane map, and made 310/321, back to back.

The car is a whole new animal. I highly recommend the COBB AP to anyone who is still on a stock tune.

It's "ASC OFF". The V1 is hardwired onto the power wire on the boost gauge. Of course, the boost gauge is working off the 12v cig lighter. It only lights up when I accelerate hard up to redline.

However, I guess I can rule out the radar detector. I turned off the radar and tested the same scenerio which triggers the error code. I don't think it's the radar.

Nice! So you are still on a catback exhaust and the Cobb Stg 2 requires turboback exhaust............I know the difference is 1 part (downpipe), so it still makes good power with just the catback? Just curious, with the Cobb Stg 2 where are your afr's at now?

Did you remove the boost pill to run stage 2? How did your boost curve change?
Would be cool if you post up the dyno

And another Accessport Review...

Guys, I know when I was looking at buying an Accessport I wanted to soak up as much info on it as possible. Here are my quick initial impressions...

Just got mine in the mail and within 10 minutes I was reflashed (stage 1 93 octane) and pulling out into traffic. Initial impressions in low rpm's was that the turbo spools somewhat lower, maybe around 2500-3500....rather than 500+ rpms higher before.

On the highway at full throttle and through the first three or four gears, the car is night and day difference. I come from an S2000 that had a very strong feel from vtec all the way to redline...the pre flash evo felt the opposite, like it was gasping for air beyond 5500 rpm.

The car now screams through the rpm range, and has significantly more pull in the upper gears. Fifth gear now at 65 mph is a passing gear if you want it to be (5sp manual tranny). The first two gears make full throttle blasts require full attention and the car leaps forward. When stock, I felt like the power was good, but not enough to really jerk the car around and give torque steer.

Verdict, beast. I've never had such a cheap mod on any car have such a drastic effect. ECU tuning is clearly the first mod anyone should make IMHO.

Slam a few tonight...tomorrow is Friday...

Hmm, odd, though, that the base maps were rev'd from 1.00 to 1.01 last weekend...

LVSBB6 - the updates to the maps will allow you to read higher pressure from the MAP sensor. Aside from that, nothing new should be expected.
