Cobb AP for 2011 Evo X?
Thanks for the reply.... So does the AP stay connected to the car, or why can't I just switch the maps for eah car? Can I buy a used one from somebody, or do I have to buy it new?
You can buy used. Before using on another car you first have to unmarry the AP from the ECU which flashes the ECU back to stock, that is why you and a friend can't share one.
Also, I see on the Cobb website they have two different AP's. They call one Beta, which says 2011. The one that's not Beta says 08-10. So this means I can't use one that's not Beta?
Thanks for explaining this all to me.

Yes, that is the risk associated when buying used which is why you need to be very particular on who you buy it from. Definitely look at their iTrader rating, who they are, etc. If you buy one that's still married you can send it in to Cobb to be unlocked, but by the time you've done that it'll be more expensive than just buying new.
The 2011 maps are still called beta since they're only available for USDM cars with no international support. The actual AP units are identical though, only the firmware and maps are different (which can be updated and downloaded to any new or used AP designed for the X/RA).

Hey guys im currently running an injen intake, the one with the UICP, and a CNT exhaust, ive been thinking about getting an accesport for a while now and i really want one, what i read so far is that its still in beat and only supports the stock intake, would it be a good idea to get it, i want to get a test pipe soon as well and go stage 2 but as far as i know their isnt a stage 2 yet, what do you guys recommend im new to AP let alone tuning, thanks in advance!
Im sorry if im asking noob questions guys, but since i dont have a test pipe yet would stage 1 be the best way to go, i read some where that ppl were using stage 2 with a cat and felt the car run smoother, i plan on getting the AP first then save up for a test pipe and go stage 2 and since i just have an intake and exhaust just go stage 1 first.
Just set up my new AP today, stage 1 93oct. I was slightly skeptical as to how much I would "feel" the gain from it, but all I can say now is wow! Definitely worth the $500, especially considering the future mods and the gains that it will provide. For anyone still questioning whether to get one or not, do yourself a favor and get it!!!

and of course ask a lil more questions lol
