Good for u Keep with what works for u i will do the same.

If u read carefully the first thing i wrote is that the 60 times i posted were in a 165 hp impreza and that i knew it was not the same i also sayd thet i had done that in some wrx's that i have driven and it worked great in both et and mph

PS. The guy asked for advise, i gave mine if he likes it great if he doesnt good, but i dont think i sould be condemend just because i dont do things like everybody else or just becuse u dont like what i do. it hink u were just a little bit rude and that is not the porpuse of this forum. This forum is so that every owner can give his point of view so that the ones that have doubts can make an educated decision. Not to burn people when their ideas dont go with yours. Have a good evening.

You didn't say you did 1.5s in WRXs in that first post, though, yet you made sure to point out the crappy 1.9-2.0s, so I think you're just making stuff up now to cover that terrible launch method you suggested.

I highly highly recommend against ANYONE DOING THAT METHOD in any car, no matter if it's 165hp or 500hp.

By modulating, I ment the amount of throttle you give.
For example, with a 2 step set at 6,000, it will bounce at 6,000 til you engage the gear
But while your bouncing it, are you giving it full throttle or like half throttle?

What I'm practing ATM is letting it bounce while giving it partial throttle, then slipping it out quickly while gasing it.

I full throttle mine off the 2step limiter. Then I slip it out while holding the gas to the floor.

I'm assuming you have the restrictor pill removed? Do you have an upgraded clutch?

Your tech must work with your 1.66 60'
But whenever I try this, my clutch "unloads" and won't grab.
Then It will grab once I shift into second and I smell clutch everywhere.
Any suggestions? I thought that with a restrictor pill it was almost impossible to
launch the car hard.

I have dropped the clutch about 50 times already with no drivetrain problems, I do use matutes technique also. If your tires are inflated past 40 psi it will spin more and not shock your drivetrain, I do agree that I'm taking a chance on breaking but it works if done right. If your dropping the clutch and you EVO is bogging then put air in the tires or rev higher then drop it.Slipping the clutch is the safest way for your drivetrain but it will eventually kill your clutch. In pro drag compitition there is no time for a clutch slip on 600+ hp cars. If its your daily driver and you dont have extra $$ just in case dont drop the clutch.

I can't really tell you lol, I just go based on the feel of the clutch. I bounce it off the limiter, then quickly slip out the clutch all at once.
