WOW!! My best 60 foot on some cheapo's

Went to the local 1/8 track lastnight,, cold outside 58drg running on some sunny tires SN3800 Tires @20psi runin E85 2step @6500 makin about 12/15psi (launch map),, I pulled my best 60 foot,, 1.45.. WOW!! these tires amaze me every time I run them,,, I've seen guys on slicks and drag radials hav a hard time getting a good 60 foot Any way this is the best $220 bucks
I ever spent on tires ($220 a set)
Here's my full ET..
1.45>60
7.3>1/8
94>MHP,, But ran a best of 97mph that night..
Second pass,,
1.73>60
7.52>1/8
97.79>mph Best MPH

I have to admit, I'm a bit skeptical about that 60ft. Those timers can have glitches sometimes.

Something does seem up. I cut 1.480's on Hoosier QTPs, but.... we do have a local that cuts 1.5's on cheapo tires, so it must be possible.

Congrats man, if that's a accurate timer, you did great!

Nice job! I was looking at some of your posts earlier this week on the V7 launch map threads...you found a good combination for the launch maps that did not knock?
Are you running a retarted block around 5500-6000 rpm and 100-140 load?

Ya that was me,,, Come on guys it's a 100% working timer,,,
I'll scan my slip, post it later,, O ya I had guy help me out with a good workin launch map,,, Irwindale speedway has really good traction,,, sometimes to good,,,, The reason my other pass wasn't great was the lane I was in that pass had oil on it,,, When I took off I was going in the wall,,,,
That 7.5 pass and 1.7 ,60 foot was in the oil lane,, I took off goin a lil sideways but stood in it,,, It was fun,,,,lol,,

I'm sure that's legit. Sometimes spinning the tires can help, if the tires spin just a little but are still moving the car it can act like a perfect clutch slip.

Have you ever noticed how well you 60ft right before your clutch wears out. Its just barely slipping and allowing the car to put it all down ever so gradually enough as to cause a perfect slip effect.

I ran 1.5's all day long on the stock clutch. When I switched to the exedy twin I went 1.8's.

Nice job on the 60' man!

I dont' doubt that it can happen with the right prep and launch.

Now to be able to do it consistantly and with more power might be a bit tougher.

CONGRATS!
