Alcohol kit install photos and directions
1) Do you think headstuds can be safely installed without pulling the head?
2) Are there any safeguards in your flash to protect the engine if the alcohol stops flowing?
3) I have read from a very prominent tuner that you should run the lowest octane fuel that you do not detonate on, because you will make the most power that way. With that in mind, would it be best to mix water and alcohol until you get a mix that prevents detonation, but still has water in it?

There are people that say you can install the head studs one by one but from talking to a few mechanics the general consensus is that even by doing one at a time, the seal on the headgasket is still being broken, albeit a tiny bit. They've seen a few cars running hotter than stock and believe that this was the common denominator.
Bottom line is it worth it to you to take a chance and then have to turn around and do it all over again and possibly damaging your motor?
Weigh the risks...... the car's not cheap!

I've yet to see a "failure" with the studs installed one at a time on a stone cold engine, including on my own Evo. However, to each their own...
Tony, I'm still ironing that thing out we talked about... looks REAL good!

changing one stud at a time when the car is off and cool is fine. maybe if u took one out and boosted it up to 20 psi you might lose the seal a little bit, but once the car is cool down its fine.

I have a couple of questions about running alcohol. I am interested in buying this kit but want to know if running the kit richens the AFR mixture much like C16 fuel does? My whole issue is, I dont want to HAVE to run the alcohol at all times, meaning I dont want to be reflashed for the alky kit and be running too lean without it on. I want to keep my flash tune as is for my current mods and tune my SAFC2 for the alky and switch maps whenever I feel the need to run high boost and alky. Will this give me the same gains people are seeing with the alky by doing it this way?
