I'm on the phone right now waiting for an answer on the turbos.

I know the BR500 can be made in the watercooled BB center section. I am trying to get my hands on some special compressor housings for these turbos now. Compressor surge is an issue with the BB turbos this size. The BR500 is actually very similar to the BR440 with just a turbine wheel change being the difference.

O.K. I have the answer. The BR500 and BR580 can both be done in a BB liquid coolded versions. I would expect that the BR500 in a BB turbo is going to spool very closely to the BR440. The extra cost for the BB turbo is $400 per turbo/kit.

As a side note, I do NOT have the hoses put together to route the water lines. I do have the fittings for the water lines on the turbo. For the first few guys that order these you are going to have to do some work on your end to mate up the water feed and return to the steel lines on the turbo. Shouldn't be too hard. When I get a chance to mount one on our car I will do the complete kit. No telling how long that will be.

Dave & Al

Hey guys im glad to hear that you guys are changing your lineup. That is very good customer service! As for the rest of all the comments thanks guys for the response. So im guessing by the change that in conclusion that the BB will be better off and the water cooled will also help out? Well now i cant wait to see these new turbos i think that they will be very impressive. Also if i could respond to some comments talking about long hard use of the turbo compared to drag racing the turbo. Either way it doesn matter if you are going down the street or running in the One Lap America Race HEAT DESTROYS! So wouldnt you want your turbo running as cool as it can be at all times? Anyway enough said AL thanx for the post! Dave Great Customer Service! Keep up the good work guys!

I believe Buschur makes parts that work and uses turbos that are super reliable as he has used the same design in DSM's with great success and reliablity, In my opinion he is offering these BB versions for people that want to spend the extra money and insist on having BB turbos.

Yeah you might get a LITTLE better spoolup but I actually think the BB turbos are less reliable, hes offering these as an option but Im sure he still stands on the side that the turbos on the stock turbo kits are good enough for everyone and are super reliable...

My perfect turbo would be NON-Bearing water & oil cooled...............

Just my opinion

Just got some BAD *** new turbos in today. Took awhile to get these built. I have 5 of them.

It is our BR580, which is a modified GT35r. These new turbos have twin ball bearing, water cooling and are small enough on the compressor cover to work with no additional work with our cast manifold.

Thanks,

We've found ball bearing Garrets to be FAR more reliable than standard bushing. There is this myth about BB not being reliable that stems from the problems with the failures from the first Ball bearing turbos released by Turbonetics which were proned to failure.
