Beware Dynoflash Is A Ripoff

Many of you were there at the socal meet #12 at XS Engineering when some of us had our cars dyno'd. Many of you also noticed that my dynoflash tuned car was dynoed at a pathetic 270 CRANK hp which is 1 hp less than stock!! The wheel horse power came in at 241! HORRIBLE numbers. Also the boost dropped a whopping 4.5 psi thats even worse than stock. Now this isn't even on a stock evo. My mods at the time were FULL 3 inch TURBOBACK with NO cat. 3 inch downpipe, 3 inch straight pipe, 3 inch catback. 93 octane! I had an RMR intake system, hallman pro rx manual boost controller set at 20-21 psi, Walbro fuel pump and the dynoflash tuned for all the parts. I noticed the car was running slow times at the track and decided to dyno it. Surprise surprise the tune given to me by Al "owner of dynoflash" was CRAP. This was the second time he tuned it as well. When i ask the guys at XS is there was a mistake or something they all said the dyno was running fine. they all also asked me if i had any ecu tuning. I said "yeah Al tuned my car with his dynoflash" and they all shook their heads and said "thats probably why". So i figure ok no problem, Al is here at the meet and I'll tell him about it so he can fix it. When I show AL the crappy dyno chart he says "Ey, I dont know anything about this dyno, these numbers mean nothing to me. There could be any number of things going on with the dyno" So he tells me the numbers on this dyno mean nothing. Then he goes off to "Show off" a different dyno chart of someone who had over $6000 worth of performance mods barely hitting the 300hp mark and telling everyone how great his dynoflash is based on, thats right, the same dyno. So on one hand he tells me the dynochart means nothing when he sees how ****ty his tune is running and on the other hes bragging about these other numbers on the same dyno the same day. And those numbers wurnt much to brag about in the first place. So i have him takehis garbage tune out of my ecu that day and the car was pulling MUCH harder. I've also take the car to the track since and improved my time ET by 0.3 seconds and my speed by 7mph on the STOCK ecu. So i figure no problem. Al has a money back guarantee. So i contact him and he says NOPE. I'm not giving your money back. You have to send me the ecu back within 2 weeks of when you get flashed for that. Al NEVER mentions this EVER when he advertises his flash. It was only written on his website AFTER I had purchased it. So then he tells me I can still sell my flash rights to someone else and they will be able to get their ecu tuned at no cost and they will be able to sell their flash later if they wish. So i start advertising the flash and get some buyers. So when the buyers contact Al, he tells them things to deter them fromt he purchase. After i got wind of this I contacted Al and he tells me that he will charge my buyers $50 on top of whatever I sell my flash for. No one is gonna go for this. And on top of that, he says hes charging them for electricity and labor costs. What the hell is this about? If you thought Shiv {vishnu} was shady, you might wanna rethink it and put Al at the top of the shady list.

In Summry:
Al promised money back guarantee for 20WHP and 20wheel torque. He gave me NEGATIVE 20-35 whp/torque. And refuses to give my money back.

He says i can re-sell the flash at any time to anyone at no cost to the buyer. HE WILL CHARGE $50 to the buyer of the flash and give me **** on the phone about it.

He refuses to do anything to make it right and tells me he doesnt want to deal with me.

Alrighty Al, you wanna be shady. I'll do everything I can to deter people from getting screwed by u.

Note: This is all after I gave Al 4 customers as well as plenty of referrals.

STAY AWAY FROM DYNOFLASH!

Oh and if your reading this Al. I'll see you in court.

Hmm.... that sucks when people don't stand behind products especially when they make gaurentee's like that... just one more reason to go with Vishnu when I get the money.

wouldnt u be? I mean if i made little or no gains thats one thing. but i LOST a LOT of hp. i mean a 3inch turboback with no cat, intake, boost controller, fuel pump and flash on 93 octane should be atleast 260-275 at the wheels. i was at 240!

Damn, XRS...sorry to hear you had so much trouble...

I have a similar setup to yours, and my Evo pulls MUCH harder all the way to redline after the DynoFlash...did you get a custom tune or a mail-in flash???

Guess I'll have to go dyno my Evo now...

I not trying to defend Al at all but.... you should have a tune (safely) you your car I understand what your saying and think for your story your right but someone needs to tune your car right now your car is running rich from the fuel pump you need to compesate from that

just some advice

While it sounds like you may have some valid complaints here, something is definitely amiss about your post... perhaps a typo, perhaps otherwise.

I was under the impression a stock Evo got about 220HP to the wheels, which would be consistent with the stock numbers of 271HP to the crank and a typical AWD drivetrain percentage loss. What you're suggesting is that while crank horsepower was down 1HP (and how did you measure that?), your WHP is up 21HP, which is only an 11% drivetrain loss, a little unrealistic.

Anyway, if this isn't a typo, then it's possible you and Al aren't connecting because your numbers don't make sense... If I were him hearing those numbers, and I don't even know Evos that well, I'd assume you were trying to play him a fool. Now that's not saying he shouldn't honor his guarantee, but still, having done customer service types of activities before, the last thing I usually want to do is be nice to people who aren't rational.

dyno flash

This is a highly disturbing story.... I was planning on getting the dynoflash from Al soon; but i want to hear whats goin on here from Al if he is reading this. That is a situation I do not want to find myself in.......Al???

Dude I have the same exact mods as you and have 330whp with the flash from Turbotrix, except I have 94 octane. Oh well you get what you pay for. Yet another unhappy dynoflash customer . Just go to turbotrix man. They have the fastest Evo in the world what more can I say. .

When I had a dynoflash I had 298 WHP and 302 trq
with
3 inch turbo back
hks evc bc
warblo fuel pump
hks grounding kit
hks rs intake
then my bv took a sh**
so...
I got the hks f-con pro
and much more
but.... I had no complants with the dynoflash
sorry you got a sh**** flash

Hmmmm, ever stop and think that just maybe you have slow car, rather than a bad tune, ecu reflashing isnt rocked sience and I doubt very much it was the tune.

Do you have proof, like dyno #'s before the flash. And, also if its cleary stated on his website about the money back offer, whats the problem... maybe next time you should do your homework...
