MIVEC tuning
Hey all
Been reading through the thread and wanted some opinions on my setup. I've got GSC R2 cams with a FP Black on a standard bottom end. I'm using a tuner supplied mivec map which is the same map as his tuned stock cams map (similar to the RS map). I'm getting knock from 6200 through to my 7500 redline and a bit even after I lift, this is not fuel or timing related. Do you think this could be to do with the mivec tune and if so what map do you think I should try, was thinking John Bradley's S2 map?

Since you are using my style of map already, at 8250 set the advance to -1.2* from 145* load and up, drop the advance at 5000 from 14.4 to 9.0, then interpolate that whole block.

Looks pretty close to what I would use, yeah.
In most cases its during buildup of boost in the 65-90 load cells so 0 -15psi
I havent noticed surging while this knock happens although i had to readjust the DV because it would open early in 5th under light boost (passing on highway)

Resurrecting this, hope you don't mind
I went through the thread and produced an updated map for my car. This is a combination of some of the maps here as well as my original top end map.
This is what I'm running now and I can believe how much better daily driver the car is with this low end change only.

This is what I'm thinking of adding once I have changed my original catbat to a less restrictive 3" catback with 3" DP and stock cat.

Thoughts so far?

For a less restrictive exhaust, more overlap is better out in the high load cells. But don't go crazy with the overlap. What's shown in the first table is probably fairly appropriate. It will depend also on what turbo is being used.
