would #3 affect the handling of the car and what DP fits perfect
#3 shouldn't effect anything but your knock count (if that's what's causing it)... I need to do the same thing.
Thanks for the tip TTP... I'll be doing that on Sunday while I'm dynoing... also removing the bars for that.

I'd stay away from solid mounts or firm motor mounts simply because it may stop the engine from shifting, but possibly make other noises transmit into the engine..
I put spacers on my tie bar, it was required with the earlier buschur downpipe, but even that wasn't enough to prevent the contact.. When I have some time I'm going to adjust my turbo outlet on the GT35r to see if I can get it to tuck the downpipe up a bit more while I'm under there.
