Thanks Ralph, that is exactly what I meant.

I have a feeling that once this is worked out for the 8's it will be a long line to get one of these so I figure I'll get in while the gettin' is good

Yeah, I hadn't posted that yet here. Got distracted by tuning my BCS. :-)

The sensors will be leaving Japan on Tuesday of next week. Hoping to have them two weeks after that. I'll PM you all for payment after they arrive.

I managed to sucessfully disable the EGR Monitor/Test so it shows as Unsupported in an OBD-II scanner.. Thats 50% of the battle when it comes to swapping the sensor.

I'm not getting any EGR CELs, and I haven't disabled the test. For the Evo 8s, I think its the same situation as the Evo 9; update the MAP sensor translation table with the JDM values so that the sensor can provide the correct pressure data to the EGR system. I think that someone just needs to locate the MAP sensor translation table, and the high/low fault check values in the Evo 8 ROMs.

Now if someone intends to run without EGR (say with an aftermarket manifold), then I can see that it would be useful to shut down the EGR monitor.

Yep that was my original reason for it. But disabling the EGR test also disabled a few CEL codes associated with it. So it'll never be a problem running an aftermarket or stock 3 bar sensor. You can disable the car's use of the sensor also with another bit, and the MDP/MAP Cel code goes away also, but I left it enabled in the samples I posted as its something I'd want functioning once the table is found and the sensor is calibrated.

Turns out that these 10 JDM sensors are all that were in Japan. There won't be any more available until sometime in May.

If anyone is interested in the next bunch that I bring over, please PM me. And I've got updated install instructions in this thread:
