Mine just arrived 5 min ago so I will be logging my boost through it and tunning my bcs over the next week or so. I am not looking for speed density yet cause I am trying to stay near stock (or near stock looking) for my rare dealer visits.

Thanks a mil mrfred

Just got my sensor yesterday

However I have an EVO8 so until the tables are found I have a pretty white box sitting in dining room....

If there is anything I can do to help I will have no problem doing so.

We need Malibu Jack to sort this out. He is a busy man but I am sure that he can find the correct table starting point.

mrfred did you get my pm requesting to be put on the next list?

Yeah I am in no hurry, just more a convenience to log boost to make sure exactly everything I have logging is accurate.

I can't remember, someone said they were going to find the tables for the 94170008 ROM. If they need help I have the 94170014 ROM (apparently very close to the 94170008 ROM).

Bah! No chance you'd want to sell me your JDM MAP sensor is there?

Since I have an IX without a boost gauge I'd like to start logging boost ASAP. I'm currently on the waiting list for the next shipment, but... yes... I'm just THAT impatient!

Plug it in and see what happens There's no reason not to try it and see.

Not every car/rom has trouble with this swap. It may just throw a code and run perfectly fine or not throw any codes and run fine. Or barely run , in that case swap back the old sensor until we figure out the tables.

You can also try using the IX information to adjust the barometric tables if there is an issue with driveability. Just a thought, but like MJ said plug it in and let us know what you see and what happens.

I may have time to do this on Saturday unless some one has verified the 008 rom doesn't like it

Same here, I am going to try it tonight. It all depends if I get my waste-gate dump-tube welded up properly, and my rotors/pads/ss lines installed. My first priority is getting the car ready to go to the track tomorrow...

If I get some time I will have no problem trying this. MJ is there anything I can log specifically that would help? Any specific things I should be looking for?

I've been looking through the Evo 8 94170008 ROM. The MAP sensor code appears to be less complicated than with the Evo 9. I have found some of the tables for that ROM, and I think that there is a chance that the car will run with no mods to the ECU. Has anyone with an Evo 8 tried the JDM MAP sensor yet to see if the car will run?

Also, can one of you Evo 8 guys with that have the sensor email me your ROM? I can update some of the tables so that EvoScan/Mitsulogger will read the correct boost level. Please zip your ROM before sending it.

I am heading to the track as we speak. I can test this out when I get some time, I will let you know how it goes. I will email you my ROM later today.

94170008 is the rom that most of the USDM Evo8's roms are based on. You probably should post the XML Table definitions for the tables you found so it can be included in the XML def that is currently published. And so it can be used to find the same maps in the other newer roms.

It makes more sense than to get others to send you 94170008 roms when it just makes more work for you.

I have a GM 3 Bar sensor, but Its probably going to require similar changes to the tables to get a proper output value.

And like I had mentioned, my car with the 3 bar map sensor ran fine, it has the 94170008, it would get the EGR Error code on occasion due to the values being different though.

The Evo 8 appears to have a very different (much less) dependence on the MAP sensor. Its not like the JDM Evo 9 and USDM Evo 9 where there is a one-to-one correspondence between algorithms. Once I get someone to verify that my ROM mods work, I'll post the definitions. Just trying to keep the confusion down.
