I figured it out, apparently you have to open the graph and click on calculate power and torque before doing the log.

That can't be right. I haven't even used .99 in my car yet, but I was able to load up a .97 log and have it graph torque and HP in .99.

What could cause Evoscan to make the Ecu freak out setting DTCs for coolant temp, Crank angle sensor, idle stepper (basically all parameters to be logged) and make the engine misfire/almost stall?

What is confusing me is that last night it was working fine.

Pull the white plug when you're not flashing.

Well, the freak-out and stall is due to the port getting reset for one reason or another. This does happen when the PC's serial port is reset for whatever reason. The easiest way to avoid it is to not connect the white (single wire) connection to the white nylon port under the dash.

Second issue is the DTC codes in Evoscan, ignore it, they only work for earlier Evo's and it doesnt work with the USDM 8 or 9.

Once you registered, you should've had access to a link from the EvoScan site.

This annoys me too, I am currently analysing the FTDI chip reset to supress the surplus signals it sends to the reflash connector

I have converted my evo4 to an evo8 ecu, so I will now be programming this into evoscan.

I've noticed a lot of support questions in this thread...is there a forum somewhere they can be asked? I purchased the software about a week back and am still trying to get it to connect. I manage to get ECUFlash and other dataloggers to connect via the tactrix cable, but so far no luck with evoscan...just keeps timing out.

With 0.99 my LC1 WB appears to have the exact same responses as LogWorks 2.03, but just at about 0.3 sec different rpm. Not sure which RPM is off 0.3 sec though

hmm, I can't get .99 to run right at all now. it worked fine for a day or two, now it seems to be affecting the ecu, as rpm will rise for no reason at a stop light, and idle drops when I hit the log button. none of the logged items move , but they all indicate maximum values.

I'm going to reinstall the program and start from scratch.
