Does setting the timing like you did reduce knock while holding the gas pedal down @ the 5500 rpm rev limit prior to launch?

I logged an Evo in the 1/8 mile and on two runs there was no knock while holding the revs in the two step for launch. But on the third run the car knocked like crazy. Would you system help with the knock?

When trying to get to the launch limiter, dont smash the gas, roll into it slowly, and evenly. That itself will help stop knock.

I am going to try running less timing too, for knock, and more launch psi. hth

no you dont set all 3 maps the same, map 3 is for you car not running good mode.

Come on, get serious, that building was not big enough for him to fit inside.

Please do.. I remember you posted at one point that it had to do with Mivec advance/non-advance and RPM right?

hell yeah! or a simple explanation, and some items we can log to figure out when which map is used. inconsistent timing is kind of annoying.

edit: logged timing from one of my pulls goes 7* 6* 7* 5* 7* 6* 8* 7* 8* 9*. the 5* dip is from one count of knock, which went away.

50/50 mix

heet and distilled water...

i had her on the dyno, kept giving it to her until she didnt want it anymore... 22 is where she tapped out, well, 24 is where she tapped out, i backed it down 2 degrees just to be on the safe side... and then a few more above 7000.

Here are my pump and race gas maps.... EVO9. The dyno sheets are for this map. I'm headed to the track on Saturday to see what kind of trap speeds I can get. It sucks that the EVO9 has **** gearing for the 1/4 mile. I'll be shifting into 5th as I don't run over 7500 rpm.

The Low Octane maps are for "Not running good mode", but regardless... if your car has problems, do you think you're going to drive it around hitting boost and redlining it ?

Most people agree you should set all 3 high octane maps on the IX to the same numbers
