I do recall at least one other thread where someone (smartbomb) mentioned that he was able to improve fuel economy by increasing ign adv. Another poster in this thread also mentioned that he was able to increase ign adv as the afr was leaned out past 14.7.
i advanced my ignition 3* in cruise from 2000 to 3500 and have much more power then when i had only adjusted the afr, EGT's increased ever so slightly when i went over 3* so i left it there

I'm trying out +2 deg from 1500 rpm to 6000 rpm and from 0 to 120 load. Loading up the ROM tonight. Will try it tomorrow.
MRfred...let us know results i wasnt comfortable changing that much of the map for fuel economy, since i car pool to work so i figured a small amount of change would suffice

I got a few logs this morning, and so far not a single knock count with the greater advance in cruise conditions, even when EGR would kick in and raise the advance to 40 deg. The car did seem to feel more responsive as well which is the aim. Remember that I'm running E85 now. YMMV on pump gas. I'll probably try adding another degree for the drive home. I can post maps if anyone is interested.
Especially with the insane boost levels some guys might be pushing these days.
