They're working through a communications issue that happens on some JDM cars. They are getting close to a solution... maybe by the end of the week. Once its resolved, I suspect a release will be imminent, but it looks like JDM and USDM ROMs will be the only ones with maps for the first release. Support for EDM and ADM will rapidly follow. I suspect that people will be posting map locations well before the second ECUFlash release.

I cant wait!!! How realistic is it do you think? I know a guy that wants has car tuned really bad, he already bought a red, 800cc injectors fuel pump everything... he is just about to the point to buy a piggyback or something........ I would hate to see that, when life would be some much better with an ecuflash tune!

A reasonable starting set of maps have been found for the JDM and USDM cars, so no hold up there. Its just the communications issue (which has been present since the first betas went out over a month ago) that needs tweaking. A new beta with a fix has been sent to the JDM Evo beta tester to try out. Should be hearing back in a day or two. In the end, it all depends on the ECUFlash developer though.

I was thinking about it today.
Do you realize this program is going to create such posts as "80whp for $160".
Damn the X is an amazing car. My prediction = ECUFlash will be the definitive way to tune your car within a year.
Dream world = opensource maps for all sorts of levels of modifications, free to anyone who wants them.
