Virtual Dyno Room-Dyno Simulator
I have been giving the standalone version away to beta testers with no feedback. Its kind of discouraging to give it away to get feedback and noone responding. I know it needs work but dang I wanted to know if it halfway worked first before I cleaned it up. I guess I could go ahead and display AFR in the bottom graph but I need an evoscan log with afr in it first. My LC1 stopped logging for some dumb reason but it still displays on the gauge.

I'd be happy to help with testing. I am always running logs on evoscan and I have used VDR a bunch. I can send you evoscan logs with AFR from an LC1.

This is kind of on topic:
If anybody wants a copy of my python scripts for generating road dyno plots, let me know. They are currently configured to grab MacLogger/Evoscan type csv file, the first large contiguous block of high throttle, then call gnuplot to compare.

PS: do you old timers remember this thread:

that's back when I used to actually *think* about this stuff. It's back.

I spoke to jack a while back about working to in cooperate this with some other types of vehicles mainly subaru's. I have found that airboy's spreadsheet seems to be pretty limited for the cars it can work for or the gears you can chose.
Anyway he told me about this new program being setup and I was wondering if something that has been implemented or if its something you want to do or need help with? Let me know.
And if you need a tester for the program just send me a pm or email me at my username @ live.com

I have a beta test of the program ready but Id like to add a few more features to it before I send it to anyone else ... plus the beta testers I am getting dont send me any feed back. I dont need any more of those beta testers. I need feedback about what works and what doesnt ... features that NEED to be added. Right now I need a log with AFR in it to get the AFR graph woring. If anyone has a log let me know so I can send you my email address to get it to me or post it in this thread. After that gets in there Id be willing to let people test it if they promise to give feedback. This project will never get done with out some feedback. So help your fellow Evo owners and give me feedback.

One cool feature that could be useful for tuning would be a Brake Specific Fuel Consumption (BSFC) tab. Add a column for IPW on the data entry screen then injector size, latency and base fuel pressure settings on the chart screen. Calculate fuel flow and then BSFC.
Just a thought. It helps show areas of your curve you may be able to pick up additional power or when you reach that point where the motor is no longer efficiently making power.

A road pull:
http://www.cs.unm.edu/~donour/cars/e...l/road-log.csv
Ambient pressure was 24.440 in.Hg. Yes, 24. That's not a typo. Temp was about 40 degrees. 04 RS, 3rd gear. 3220 lbs total
A dyno graph, almost back to back:

Enjoy. Hopefully your code will run on something other than windows.

EDIT: While I'm chatty, I'll mention that I chose that log for a reason. Notice the plot has a big dip between 5500 and 6500. That's a very important feature to conserve. I have spent a lot of time playing with smoothing filters, trying to get one that both preserves that, but gets the peaks right. I haven't found anything that I'm happy with.

Was going to work on this project this weekend while at this 'lovely' wedding weekend extravaganza that I have to go to. BUT ... I left the code back on my desktop. I could kick my own *** sometimes.
Guys - how much data do you need to make the numbers / curve look correct ? For example, I noticed in my 3rd gear pulls, I collect a lot less data than what others are seeing and I go from 3K to 8K quicker than others, but m numbers are WAY low. Also, how do I collect more data (increase the sample rate) - others seem to have 2 - 3 x, but I have a brand new laptop. TIA

second; make sure your lappy is in high performance mode. often when your not plugged in it drops to a battery saver mode.
