launch maps
Wrong he's using just the v7 mod it has around -15 * with lots of fuel I had mi e sound the same and act just like it but it was messing with my other maps all together also it was flooding my motor after 2 stepping it plus hated the way it sounded it was like a banana stick in the tail pipe...your gonna have to play with it To adjust properly took me around 10 times...you don't want to have knock doing this mod cause the car can Bog..

He's using an aftermarket inginition box so that it is an iginition cut based system, instead of the stock fuel cut based system. he's using the V7 launch maps to set it up, but using the cdi box for the 2 step with his factory 2 step rpm setting very high so he never hits it. Since the factory 2 step is fuel cut, its pretty hard to get the desired results when the extra fuel isnt there. A good 2 step system has low timing, extra fuel and cuts ignition for the 2 step.
Yep my thoughts exactly...Im glad to see someone know the whole story
No offense, but you should really make your own map. No one's setup is the same so you should make your own according to your own logs.
It is actually pretty simple to set up your own....
Set your stationary rev limit to your desired launch rpm....in my case 5500
Get the car warmed up and then log you bouncing off of the stationary limit.
Look at your log to determine where you need to add fuel and remove timing.
The ECU clips timing at -10 so it is pointless to enter less. (although some may desire less)
In the same area you remove timing, add fuel....and lots of it as the moments between rpm bounces will go lean.
Make sure you have smooth transitions in and out of the hole
Log again and make adjustments as necessary.

I gave a friend of mine my launch map settings (got me 13psi at the line with consistent 1.6 60ft) as a beginner map for him to work off of...he was only able to build 8psi and bogged flat on his face on the launch.
The little writeup that Appauld did is a very good tutorial on how to get started.

Hi guys!!! really good thread, I tell my tests, as always at the end I have some problems.
ok my launch control was working well it cuts to 6000 rpm but after three launchs now not want to work, my evo holds the lauchs maps for a few seconds but after a few seconds it passed to the normal maps and the rpm cut is removed, would happening here guys??
these are my lauch maps:

I made a video of my tests, when my launch worked well, now I have problems, my evo not want hold the rpm cut at 6000 just for a few seconds.

Here is my launch map.

Works awesome for me. Basically the deep recessed areas are where my launch rpm is set. The rest of the map is my regular map.
The key is logging a bunch of launches and integrating the maps. You will have to watch your logs and see what your car is trying to do when you launch it. I will two step it, hold it for about 3-5 seconds, then launch, run through the first 3 gears and shut down.
To arrive at the recessed areas, I had to play with the fuel and timing in those areas to get the boost I wanted and then continued toying with it until it wasn't knocking anymore. You'll get some knock here and there, but if you get a significant amount back to back, the car will bog. I can sit on the two-step for almost 10 seconds and it will still give me a clean launch. I don't really recommend holding it too long, because really bad things can happen...

Ok VSS is Vehicle speed sensor, the "launch-map vehicle speed threshold" is set to 8 km/h is this correct??
maybe I need the clutch switch
