I have been using this for a while however since my car is not in the car xml i have been pasting my car's xml file in the cars directory every so often (when the updates remove it)

However since 1.1.8 it will not recognize the xml i paste in the folder. The car editor is still in "coming soon" mode so....

Are you able to add the Evo III GSR to the list? The weight and gear ratios are correct but the frontal area and drag coefficient i just copied from another xml since i have no idea what they are.

<CarParameters>
<CarMake>Mitsubishi</CarMake>
<CarModel>Evo 3 GSR (5 speed)</CarModel>
<Weight>2772</Weight>
<TransGear3>1.160</TransGear3>
<TransGear4>0.862</TransGear4>
<FinalGearRatio>5.358</FinalGearRatio>
<DragCoefficient>0.38</DragCoefficient>
<FrontalArea>23.37</FrontalArea>
<TireDiameter>23.9</TireDiameter>
</CarParameters>
</CarDataset>

Thank you for making this program!

I am pushing the update out including your Evo III GSR this morning. If you have any info on the Evo IV or Evo I or II let me know. Those are the only ones I lack supporting all Evos.

Thanks,

Thanks!

I can get you the gear ratio's, final drive and probably stock tire size but the frontal area and co-efficient of drag not so much. Though i would imagine they would be similar to the 5

That helps A LOT!!! I just need frontal areas and drag coeff now. Which are relatively minor in the grand scheme of power calculations.

I was having the same issue and was about to uninstall/reinstall until I found this. Worked for me thanks

Running Windows XP 32-bit only. Sounds like there might be something more serious going on with 64-bit.

is it strange if my VD dynojet numbers are almost the exact same as my BR MD numbers?

Just downloaded the latest software tonight...evo9 MR.

edit: I should ask, does VD look for the first WOT pull in the log? What happens if you have 2?
...maybe my pull was 2nd gear.... its raining so I can't do another pull today.

I was wondering about support for the Haltech E6x, E8 and E11 software which is "Halwin v1.26" , it outputs datalogs in .csv, and i can get them to import but i have to go in and name the colums what VD expects to see for the names of the data colums (or change the name in the options that it looks for for "time" because the haltech log has "Haltech Data Log" in the #1 spot on column A.) which is the recorded time.. I"ll upload a file i pulled that was used and showed 482hp/429 tq (which shoud be about spot on) when smoothed nicely to what i think the curve should be shaped like (smoothing factor of 6 looks nice to me on my setup). But anyway, let me know if you'd be able to write in some support for this type of file (although the colums "order" can vary depending on what order you choose your "logged data" in, the recordewd "time" is always the first colum. BUt no matter the order, the halwin software usually names them exactly the same each time it's loaded (my keyboard is broke on this PC sorry for bad grammar) I have a few exceptions for custom conversins of KPA to PSI and to convert the AEM 0-5vsignal to actual AFR readout butyou'll only run into those on my logs so i'll have to take them out if i send you some halwin logs to work with

Also, this pull i'm uploading was done uphill on about a 15-20% grade (rather steep) , does that make the VD show a lower number? IF so i'm really excited (since i would guess slowing down the time to span the revs would equal less power to the wheels)

well damn it wont' let me upload .csv files.. I wrote you on facebook about this but not sure you sawit, anyway, i can email you or get you some datalogs and the pull i am using to judge how well it works on my 2g eclipse with Hx40 and haltech E6x stand alone ECU. Just let me know how you'd prefer to receive the files

edit: I Know i can upload the .csv files over on DSMtuners, so i could make a post over there about my logs and put the info up for you.. thje software has been brought over there a few times but didn't really catch on with most of the DSMlink people, but since i run the older haltech stand alones i have no "HP and Torque estimates" available to me without the VD and VDR programs which i've been playing with like crazy sincve i figured out how to get my logs to work with them

One more thing i found (and it's more so with the excel version of VDR simulator which i know is not yours) but anyway, the haltech logs really fast and in lower RPM ranges or when getting near redline when power begins to fall off you can often log the exact sam RPM a coupletimes in a row (i've seen a max of 4times at aound 3k RPM in third where i have no boost at all, and about 2 times per time event after peak HP falls off.. like i said i don't think it actually messes with yuour programas much but i thought i would mention it and ask you your input on it.. i've tried reading most of this thread but that's a BIG TASK! LOL

thanks for the awesome program!

@TurboGlenn: Id be glad to look at the Haltech logs from older ecus if you want. I can PM you my address if you like?

It repeating RPMs isnt going to matter in VD as Ive got it trimming out those repeats.

Brad,

Could you add support for ELM logs? I've already added it to my own columnnames.xml but had to make it read-only so it doesn't get overwritten. Here's the xml:

Code:
<Columns>
    <SoftwareName>EvoLiveMap</SoftwareName>
    <BackColor>SpringGreen</BackColor>
    <ForeColor>Black</ForeColor>
    <AFR>WBo2Serial()</AFR>
    <TPS>TPS(%)</TPS>
    <Boost>MAP(PsiG)</Boost>
    <Time>LogEntrySeconds</Time>
    <RPM>RPM(RPM)</RPM>
</Columns>

Here you go. Just change the extension back to .csv
