General non-information about factory ALS
Still working on valve mounting. I reckon by end of next weekend ill have the new pipe work done. I need two things water jetted outand order a diaphragm for the wastegate I got which was torn.
I hope everything comes together before snow flies. I'd really like the opportunity to tune the sas tables better.
mrfred may be able to do the work I need.

Good to hear. I still haven't got my car running. Fiance's evo broke that has taken priority(4yrs of drag racing finally took its toll) . Did I miss where you said the OEM valve won't flow the amount of air we need?

I didn't determine that factually but mine malfunctioned and I'd like to get something stateside and take a que from wrc stuff which appears to be a little larger. Even the Toyota Consumer non functioning stuff was rather large...
The wastegate is free to me to test with.

I was doing some running around tonight and I DEFINITELY see a reduction in vacuum with no air injection. From -20in/hg to -10. Im tempted to try an air bypass into the intake manifold just to see if it gets an better. I can promise you that something will work.
Everytime I think about the programming needed I get different thoughts about how it needs to be done.
A timing table and fuel table added to the SAS settings which determines quantity when SAS is active. vaguely what I described to mrfred in like 4 paragraphs lol

I think a solution that would passify both maf and sd guys would be switching to alt map on decel..
Then if the maf climbed load due to more air being bypassed then you could tune it with a separate map. Would also allow for air -intake manifold bypass to work better too

In the quest for my SAS thread, Ive come to the point where I would like something specific to happen when SAS is active (in a sas rom). That change, would be to switch to alt-maps.
My goal is to have timing adjusted in the alt map for on-overrun/als/sas along with fueling being tuned from the alt fuel map.
I have been limited to testing for two reasons. The first is the amount of boost that makes it to the manifold takes the MAP (sd) above where negative timing is. The second is the extremely poor drivability by putting negative timing up in the load ranges that start to acheive the effect I want.
I understand that SAS/als doesnt drive smooth, but a standalone doesnt achieve als by using negative timing in the main timing map. Its separate!
I contacted a couple members on here already, and my approach was to create a new pair of tables. Im feeling that those who will benefit from this can do with no alt maps!
This is a request to do a single rom id as a proof of concept.
Time can be compensated, and details etc etc can be discussed. I want to make proof that this works, and this is a rather big piece. separate timing and fuel for sas.

3.6 psi tial spring will be here tomorrow. After that Im gonna plug in the tial and see if vacuum can open it. Ideal situation leaves the valve open with vacuum, but boost on the top port will keep it closed.
unless exhaust back pressure from the manifold isnt high enough to blow the wastegate open with no pressure then I will consider using the stock actuator and canister. But the important thing is it opens.
I wont have a check valve unless I can get something fancy from the race car shop to work with -16.
