EDIT - It'll be on a stock block Evo 8 with supporting mods. 93 octane.
You need to provide more details, for example, how are you going to use the car and what your goals and intended use of the car is. The EF3 is larger than the BBK. I think you would be fine with either. There are a few EF3/93-octane EVOs floating around with charts and I know there are plenty of BBK charts floating around the forum.

I was in Minnesota visiting a friend this 4th of July. Stopped by Map to get a shirt for a souvenir then my wife was ok with me getting more things.

So I bit the bullet and got:
EF2 ported and coated (with install kit)
Fic 1650
Map o2 housing
Dw 300lph
Jmf intake with couplers

All of this cost me about as much as Fp red alone. So that's awesome for a broke guy like me

This will be going on 03 evo8 with gsc s2, tsudo exhaust, BR race core and piping.

I want to stay stock block as long as possible and will run dual map.
Car will see some mixed track (drag, auto-x, road) this is mostly a street car. Now I'm wondering if ef2 was a good choice or if ef3 be better?

Also should I get o2 housing coated or is there minimal benefit? I will probably heat wrap as much as possible (and will wrap dp). Would ported exhaust manifold make a big difference?

Either way I can't wait to drive with EF turbo
Great customer service as always.
The ef2 will be fun for sure. But I am wondering why you went with such large injectors for this turbo? Are you planning on upgradeing again?

Thanks guys.

I thought injectors were rather large but that's what sales rep at map suggested.
Wouldn't 1250's be enough for e85?
Also was told that anti surge compressor housing isn't needed.

What's the downside of running that size injector?

Any other small changes or upgrades I should do before Tunning?

Not really a downside to it. I mean you have plenty of room to growif you ever decide you wanted to make more power. I would have went with a different fuel pump but thats ok it should work. As for the 1250's I think they would work but you may want to go a little larger then that. Your injectors will be fine for it.

you recommend larger than 1250's for an EF2 on e85? Damn, I thought 1150s running on e85 would be good enough for my EF3,.

All on 93 octane and stock block:

EF3 vs. BBK JB ... what kind of comparisons in addition to the EF3 flowing more than the BBK.

Thanks

The BBK Full will be more responsive on the 2.0L than the EF3 as it is smaller. The EF3 will make more power as it is larger.

I believe EF3 is very comparable to the FP red (57-60lb/min), as opposed to the BBK full rated at 49lb/min. So prolly around 100whp more capable over the BBK.

I would estimate between 60-100whp depending on set up.

Well get hoppin'! I'm specifically interested in evo8/9 graphs. It would be nice to share your data okey I did above showing timing and boost outputs. As those shouldn't be intellectual property.
