MAP EF-series Turbochargers results thread
I had a four hour rolling hill highway drive home and didn't notice any side effect of the crushed DV. Other than a few spirited passes I didn't really beat on it. Just drove home like a sane person would.
MODS: EF2, FIC1100s, GM3 port, perrin filter, catless hks exhaust, COP, ETS 3" with upper and lower pipes.
Yes this was E85.

Well im heading back to my tuner tomorrow to put the finishing touches on my tune with my ef2.5. I'll try and get the info and a possible dyno graph on here tomorrow afternoon.
I'm not sure how I would describe the spool.... no turbo feels like stock to me and I've been quite a few different EVOs. I've even contacted other EF2 owners and compared spool and its pretty much identical so mechanically all is well. Below is an EF2 on pump vs Stock 9 turbo on pump... Here you can see the difference in spool .... but pay attention to the TQ as well. It does't really lose any usable power.

The huge bump in power from 4000-8000 RPM is VERY noticeable, however.
Even thought spool/torque are roughly the same, my setup feels a lil doggier down low. It's noticeable, but well worth it
You are right, no one steps on it at 3k on the street or if you are, you are doing it wrong.
I moved on from EF4 this year, but didn't lose too much down low. Replaced with a new MAP t4 kit. The EF4 was a champ though, no issues ever and was the most fun stock frame I had. I will miss it...but not too much.

Not lazy, but sometimes a downshift to pass just isn't needed. My car has plenty of low-end torque to make a clean 5th gear overtake on the highway. Maybe that's why my clutch is lasting so long, I use my entire powerband rather than shifting the car like it's a sportbike

Also too lazy to down shift? seriously? Why do you even have an evo? Why don't you get an auto-diesel or something?
You act like the 2.5 spools a TON better than the EF3. You are talking a bit more torque and only 200 RPM. lol. Seriously not going to be enough of a difference to warrant your justification. Personally an EF2 sounds more on your speed.

And I never stated I was too lazy to downshift. Why would I downshift if I have a turbo setup that can efficiently spool enough in 5th gear to pass people? That's exactly what I was going for. Again, great observation and thank you for trying.
